Getting my behind out of jury duty
Do I need to send copies of the kids birth certificates with my "please don't make me serve on a trial jury" letter?

Yes but I think you only need to send in Lukie's bc. I went in person (Nassau) and they only wanted a copy of my 3 yr old's bc. The less personal info out there the better so I was glad.

Thanks,
I was hoping I wouldn't have to bring all three. Did they keep it do did they just want to see it when you went in person because I would happily drag all 3 kids in there with me

Re: Getting my behind out of jury duty
I just went in person b/c I didn't get my letter sent in in time. Just send in a copy of your youngest childs birth certificate. You will get a two year postponement.

Re: Getting my behind out of jury duty
I just went through the jury duty process and got called in... It really wasnt as bad as I thought. If you are able to take the day to go in, in case you are called I would totally do it. Once in the courtroom the judge asked if anyone had any reason why they could not serve. Some said they were the only ones to get their kids off the bus, others said they were the sole child care givers, others said they had a vacation planned and tickets bought it Ireland. Everyone was excused from the judge, and we wont get called for another 7 years I think. If you do the 2-yr postponement, what if in 2 years you have something that you really cant get out of? I dont think you can put it off again... jmo
