I just hope they find that girl from NJ so her family can find some peace. I just saw on the news that they have a suspect.

Re: Gilgo Beach search
I am completely freaked out by all of this. I live less then 10 miles from these bodies. If they come to the main land to shop they are at my target, in my food store, or the person I am saying hello to..The number of times I have drove by all 8 of these women. We drive that way at least twice a week if not more especially in the summer
I know that the person doesnt have to be local but odds are they are...
I hope that this gets solved soon...

Unless you are a prostitute, I don't think you have to worry about this particular serial killer getting you. It seems all of his victims were prostitutes.

I know I have nothing to worry about but it freaks me out to think this person is in my neighborhood and it would be anyone.

Re: Gilgo Beach search
We were talking about this at work the other day and our theory is when they catch the killer, it's going to turn out to be someone a lot of people "know", who felt he could get away with it since his victims are often considered throw-away women.

i know what youre saying. even though you are not worried about him killing you, it is the sheer fact that this man or woman is in your neighborhood, changing your tires, ringing up your groceries, handling your money. whatever the case is, just knowing that kind of evil is right there in the midle of your life is very scary.

The one and only suspect that they've interviewed lives in my town.
I went to school with his niece.
Talk about disturbing.

Re: Gilgo Beach search
I live down the road from the suspect as well. I went and had work done on my tire when intiaaly this broke and his name was brought up and it happened to be that I just missed him. The works couldnt believe that it was him knowing that he is a frequent vistor in the shop.
I know I am not a prositute but what if that person overhears something I am saying and doesnt like it. What if I was on my car ride and that person thought I saw something....you never know what these people will do. They already killed 8 whats a few more..kwim

Is this the doctor? I don't see the name mentioned on any of the news sites though.

There's a doctor being interviewed?! I didn't hear anything about that. Does anyone know any details about that?

Haven't heard anything about a doctor.
The guy I was talking about is Joe Brewer. As far as I know he's the only person the police have interviewed.

Not sure of the specifics since I didn't read all the information I found online. I think he's the homeowner of the house Shannon was at the night she dissapeared. Actually I see that Joe Brewer is the homeowner. No idea who the doctor is. I was reading bits and pieces of an online forum about the case.

Re: Gilgo Beach search
Interesting: Wonder what this means.......perhaps a dumping ground for yet another killer?
(From Newsday.com this morning):
Suffolk investigators believe human remains recently recovered near Gilgo Beach show significant differences from four others found last year, according to a source with knowledge of the case.
A single set of remains found March 29 and three others recovered Monday -- all still unidentified -- were found deeper into the thickets than the initial group. The source did not elaborate on other differences but described them as meaningful.

The mentioned difference is the other ones were in burlap bags, these ones aren't.

Different times of year when bodies were buried too. The killer could have also thought he would have more time or perhaps the bodies found earlier he started getting careless and buried them shallow.
