Re: Has anyone else experienced this...easy infant = HARD toddler?
My DS #2, more or less. He was such an angel as an infant - I always said that he knew that I would go insane if he wasn't bc my other 2 kids were 2 and 4 when he was born. He was so easy!! Honestly, I can't say he is a hard toddler bc he is still in many ways very easy going but he is in the the terrible twos, which is very new to me bc my older 2 didn't really have the 2 year old meltdowns (3 years old was "fun" with my older son LOL). All I can say is it will get better. I know it does bc of the other things I have seen pass with my older ones. I felt like pinching my 2 year old in the store the other day, he was having such fit - and he knew better. (I didn't do it!!! But I really really really really felt like it) The toddler years aren't just about the terrible twos IMO, it's about them testing everything, including their boundaries with Mommy.
Embrace her spirit - my older son has always been very spirited, even from in the womb - and is somewhat different than the "average child" in a lot of ways. I love it more and more as he gets older and I see his personality unfold.
ETA: My Mother always jokes that she wishes she had 1/2 the energy that any of my kids have in their pinky fingers!! Me too!!

YES YES YES!!!
Both my girls were "easy" babies, then around 1 became stubborn, very independent and determined.
And for my oldest it got worse when she turned 2 and gets worse everyday.

I really think DD is "middle of the road" with both. She was not easy at all as an infant, but I know people who have infants who are tougher. And as a toddler, I'd say the same.
