I fell in love with the name Sienna once Sienna Miller became famous. I loved the name and I think she is so stylish.
So since then, I always wanted a DD named Sienna.
DH agreed once we were married and had the theoretical "what should we name our babies" talk.
And now my DD is Sienna!

we named both of our children after historical figures
a friend of my BIL is named after someone in Lord of the Rings and he hates being asked about it.
I always wondered if Irulan from Real World Las Vegas was named after the book Dune.
Yes, she was! I grew up with her! Her father was an amazing man! I remember him fondly!

Logan is "officially" named after Wolverine.
But at the time I was obsessed with Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars, and they both had Logan characters.

My dd is named after a singer that my husband loves but the origin of the name is Shakespearean. Imogen isn't that common, but its in the top 50 names in the UK last year

DD is Maeve and while we really just named her that because we love the name and wanted something Irish, there is the well known Irish legend of Queen Maeve.

I am a direct descendant from Grace O'Malley, the female pirate. I always wanted to have a daughter with Grace as a middle name after her.

We didn't name DS after anyone, it just came to me. But I was named after a spanish soap opera from the 70's.  It's a pretty common name for girls born then!

The House of Night...a gifted young vampire named Zoey Redbird.
When DD is fussy I ask her "whats wrong Zoey-bird"

My DD is named Samantha. DH was campaigning hard for this name because when he was a kid he loved the old reruns of Bewitched and thought the Samantha character was so beautiful, so he thought it was the perfect name for our  . I really liked the name so I was sold.

We were really into the show House during my pregnancy and decided we like "Wilson" for a first name - we didn't really name him after the character, but we liked the name

I was watching Dawn Anna before i was even preggo and loved the daughter's name Lauren, stuck with me and when i got preggo i mentioned it to DH and he loved it.

Genevieve and Billy are named after family members, but Charlie is actually named after Charlie from Lost. He was my fave I was convinced we were having a boy and I couldnt give up the name just because she was a girl. I did compromise with DH because he thought it was a boy's name. And thats how she became Charlotte. But I only call her Charlie.

I didnt name him after the movie character, but i just loved the name after hearing it. My DS's name is Jake Ryan (sixteen candles)!!
OMG, my cousin named her son Jake Ryan too!!!!! That's so crazy!!!!

My sons name we just loved but my dogs name is "Lola" from shark tales. I always loved tha name though and If I would have had a daughter at that time she would have been LOLA!

I don't know you well but I am going to guess Emma from "Friends".
I love the show, but I had the exact opposite experience, the show killed the name for me. I still love Emma but couldn't use it after that.
My dad picked my own name after an Edgar Allen Poe poem-a morbid one at that. My mom agreed to it because there was some soap character with the name
no m'am.....it's more 'random' than that... :) it's totally silly and lame...but that's dave & i.
and her name fits her 100%. it was going to be Emma or Paige - and she's 1000% an Emma.

Both of my kids names were inspired by fictional characters, I guess you can say.
DD's name is Lucy. We had a Peanuts calendar up at the time and when we were going through names we liked... DH saw the picture of Lucy on the calendar and suggested the name. I loved it.
DS's name is Dexter. We love the show. I would never say we named him after a lovable serial killer, but the name was certainly inspired from the show, because we both loved his name.
We're not really baby name book type of people. lol
My DD is also Lucy. It's a name I liked and I'm fairly certain I floated past DH at some point but he rejected everything I suggested so I forced him to give me a short list of 3 names. Lucy was one of them and since I already liked it, I chose it - it was my favorite from his list though our second daughter, should we have one, might be a Zoey - also from the list. Anyway, if you want to know where DH got his inspiration, that would be Die Hard. Lucy's not named after Bruce Willis's daughter in the movie, but we watched it while I was pregnant and he thought it was really cute when she answered the phone - "MacLane (sp?) residence, Lucy MacClane speaking" - so there you have it.
