Re: Healthcare costs
It's a lot for sure. His coverage is $180 a month and mine is $200.
and we both work for big giant companies.
that acutally is the whole paycheck deduction...not just medical.

Re: Healthcare costs
We pay approximately $1000/month for our family of 4. We get it through DH's employer, who kicks in nothing! I miss when DH had it covered 100%.

Re: Healthcare costs
$55 / week for family plan no dental, no vision DS gets dental visits 1x/year until he's 11 Copay's are $30 regular or specialist. Meds are $15 except my diabetes care which is $30 for every single med/supply(about $160/month ) I just paid $250 copay for an outpatient procedure this summer. And an ER visit sets be back $150 if I am not admitted. My DH just had root canal (no insurance) for $4500.
I love the health care industry!

Re: Healthcare costs
DH works... his premium just increased...his boss pays half each pay check so it's not that bad as a single. He pays 60..but since his boss pays half, that would be 120 a week! With family, which is the ONLY other option that they have at his job, was 139 a week out of his pay, which if his boss didn't pay was about 270 a week!

Re: Healthcare costs
We don't pay anything for our PPO. DH is a physician so that is the one perk that he has - good healthcare.
When I had my own health insurance, I used to have to pay $25 every paycheck so $50/month for just me.

Re: Healthcare costs
Ours is around $320/month for the family plan. I think that's going up though in the new year.

Re: Healthcare costs
we pay about $1000 monthly for our health insurance. to add insult to injury, prescriptions costs went up to 10/35/70. So I am taking 3 brand name meds so add $210 monthly to health care costs. I cant switch to generics. our health care system is just horrible.

Re: Healthcare costs
DH is union so we don't pay a dime for our health insurance. We're very thankful for that.
I dropped my health insurance when we married. I was paying $160 a month for single coverage and my firm was paying approx. $300 a month towards it. If I stayed on the work insurance, I would be paying about $215 a month for single - work would still pay $300 a month.

Re: Healthcare costs
Almost nothing. We're all under DH's plan which is free for us. I get additional dental through my employer- it's about $160/year ($7 per 2 week pay period) for $2k worth of coverage (we have dental through DH's job, too, but it's not very good).

Re: Healthcare costs
I put nothing.
DH pays $350/month for our family plan = $4200
I get 35% of what my employer pays for individual health care plan back = which is just over $4200

Re: Healthcare costs
I don't pay for benefits (my job pays 100%, and it's pretty good coverage) but it is just for me, they DO NOT cover DH. And he is self employed, so he pays about $400 for his insurance, but his company pays for it as well.
eta: I don't have vision or dental. Out of network coverage with $3000 deductable and a $30 in network copayment. Pretty decent prescription coverage.

Re: Healthcare costs
$30 a check (every 2 weeks) for DH and me. AWESOME coverage through Oxford's Freedom plan. No referrals, $20 co-pays for any in-network doctor or service and really good drug coverage too. We are super lucky.

Hold onto that for dear life. That's throwback/old school pricing.

Re: Healthcare costs
our plan changed alot last year that we have to pay for more things and we started getting bills for lab work/blood work/ biopsies, etc.. But i guess once we meet the deductible it is not that bad... now that i heard what everyone else has. We pay about $45 every other week from his paycheck. We work together, so atleast we were able to put it under the the person who has the lower salary... the more you make the more you pay here.

Nothing. Dh's company pays the whole thing.
DH's company also pays 100% but it is HORRENDOUS coverage so I added him to mine so he's double covered.
I was so thankful to add him to mine because he works in a trade and rcan get very hurt (and does), and his insurance would barely cover ANYTHING.

Re: Healthcare costs
we pay $500/month for a high-deductible plan.. meaning we pay $500 a month to then have to pay $2500 before health insurance pays anything..
LOL.. gotta love insurance.
gotta laugh or else I'd cry!
