Help!!! "fly" bite?
I had what looked like a small fly with a metallic green striped body land on my wrist area near my watch. I shooed away immediately but a minute later the area where it landed turned into a bruise and was tender. Obviously, I was bitten or stung but by what??? And should I be worried? I left a message for my Dr. to see what she thinks and if she wants me to come in.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?
TIA

Probably a green fly. Were you by the water? Their bites hurt.

Green fly - they bite and it hurts like h-e- double hockey sticks.
I get them all the time around the horses, so I'm used to them. (Not used to those bites, though - they HURT! They bother the horses a lot more than people, though...)
It's just like a mosquito bite - not much you can do, but nothing to be worried about.
