How does IVF acupuncture work? Recs?
I've never had acupuncture done but my 1st egg retrieval is tentatively scheduled for this Monday 8/4, with a tentative day 3 transfer from 8/7. Is it to late for me to go? Do you usually go before the retrieval? After? Or only around the transfer? Do you find it helpful?
Also, my insurance will cover it with a $20 copay as long as its an in network licensed doctors that performs the acupuncture. If its out of network there is a $1000 deductible and then they will pick up 80%. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm in Farmingdale but am off during the summers so could travel fairly easily during the day.
Thanks!

My understanding about acupuncture is that it is something that takes several sessions to really help. It took me 2 full cycles until it started regulating me.
I used LI holistic health in Babylon. Andrea is awesome.

Re: How does IVF acupuncture work? Recs?
A lot of acupuncturists have all manner of treatments for hormone balance, egg quality, etc. and those treatments take several sessions to work and are done before and throughout the cycle. However, most of the research that supports acu for fertility is based on having a treatment within 24 hours of transfer. Mine always did it immediately before and after transfer. GL!

Ideally it is something to have been done in the months leading up to Ivf. I went once a week before and during Ivf and then right before retrieval and right before transfer.
I went to yinova in the city when I was working. I then went to li holistics for the last month of pregnancy to prepare for labor.

How does IVF acupuncture work? Recs?
I started acupuncture last year after and have continued it throughout my IVF treatments and when I was on a break. It's helped me physically as well as mentally. There are specific treatments they do before and after retrievals and transfers. Many of us go to Andy Kaplan in Rockville Centre. He's great both as an acupuncturist and a person. He is out of network

Even though I haven't had a successful cycle yet, I still think acupuncture is great for the mind and helps you relax
