About 45min away, but there aren't too many other options any closer (I think just one other practice and the primary ped there is nuts). She is right around the corner from the closest hospital and my OB too, we live in the middle of nowhere  It's never been an issue. Sometimes a PITA when you just need something checked out quickly, but you learn to plan ahead.

15-20 mins away, I have a few really close to me but they are all in groups and I want a single doctor.

originally was about a mile from our house so we could walk if need be. Now, since we've moved its about 25 minutes away but I love my ped's office and wouldn't change it for the one's that are closer. honestly, me being happy with the dr and np's in the practice is far more important than being around the corner. Odd's are in that type of emergrancy, your ped's office doesn't have the equipment needed to help most of the time anyways so if it's that much of an emergency that's what they invented 911 and the paramedics for. they have emergency equipment readily available.

25 mins. I prefer the hospital that they are affiliated with rather than the one that is closest to me. It was more important to have a good ped than just anyone who was close. In a real emergency you would call an ambulance most likely - but many times you might not be home anyway so that could be any hospital. If it was very important but not life threatening I would take them to the hospital closest to my ped anyway. I would say pick a ped you trust more so than the location.

About 30 minutes away. Maybe 25. We like the practice though.
When he needs more urgent care, we take him to PM Pediatrics in Bayside and that's 15 minutes away.

Baby is still in utero but we just picked ours and they are 2-3 minutes away. A lot of people recommended a practice in Great Neck, which is @ 15 min from us and I was not comfortable being that far from the ped.

About 10 minutes and there is an after hours care about 10 mins in the opposite direction. The hospital is 15 minutes away (5 mins from pediatrician's office).

Under 5 min. It important for me that they be close for emergency reasons, but also cuz I'm always running late! I also like that it's a big group with good hours and there's a pharmacy in house. They're affiliated with St cat's, which I'm not crazy about, but that's what you get in my area. Personally, if I had the time to drive to the ER with DS myself, I'd go to SB.

5-10 minute drive (depending on traffic) and in the same town as us. I wouldn't want to drive far if anything was serious.
