We have a crib that turns into a bed.

Is it hard to do? If she doesnt adjust, is it easy to make it a crib again?

I think she is way too young for this...I am going to wait another week, but if the crib issues continue, I may try her bed. I just dont want to do it if its going to be irreversible. Does anyone know?

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question. I just wanted to say that Caiden (who is now 4) was in his Twin Race Car bed at 20 months old. He climbed out around 19 months and fell and screamed. Scared the heck out of me and I immediately took him out of the crib. Until we were able to find the bed we used a twin mattress directly on the floor for him to get used to. It was actually very easy. I know every kid is different though. As far as his doorway we used a gate so he couldn't get out.

I'm waiting for Connor to climb out. He's almost 17 months old. That dreaded thump and scream is horrible, I won't lie. It woke me from a dead sleep. Chat Icon I'm hoping that Connor is that one smart kid that can climb his way down to the floor instead of just fall. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks for this question. JAG is 19 months and I am waiting for this thump any day now. Just like you I was wondering how hard it would be to convert the crib

My husband took off the front of the crib and he then put in its place the piece of wood (came with the crib) that screws in to help keep the sides propped up. It would stay up with out that piece of wood but it give the crib extra support. It was very easy to do and easy to put back as a crib. Hayley has been in her toddler bed since the summer so she was around 20 months....

Did your crib come with all the parts to become a bed? Mine says bed parts soled separately.. Didn't see that until after I already had crib. Rats!!Chat Icon

We purchased the convertibles rails for Ella's crib.

Maybe you need the convertible rails?

Re: How hard is it to turn the crib into a bed?

It took me about 10 minutes to go from crib to daybed. When we switch DS to a twin bed, it will take a little bit longer, since I'll only be using the headboard and footboard.

To go to a daybed, you just remove the front panel, and replace it with a fairly small piece of wood. Depending on the model, it's 4 screws off, and two on.
