How many cycles did you TTC before using OPKs?
Okay, here I go again with my premature questions-I can't help myself-I am learning so much!
AF is due Monday-I am hoping for a BFP but I am not getting my hopes up. I didn't want to start off doing OPKs in fear of freaking DH out (he is still getting used to the fact that we are actively TTC).
How many months do people typically try before going to OPKs?
I did get my CD 21 bloodwork last month and my OB said everything looked great. I am hoping, but trying not to get too hopeful just yet, since it is our first TTC cycle.
Opinions?

i used them the first month after the loss..
do whatever you feel comfortable with!! everyone is different!! there is nothing wrong with using them.. it actually is easier when trying!!

We only tried for 1 cycle before OPKs.
We only used the CBE digitals. They are super easy (but expensive).

I'm on my first month off the pill and i'm already testing for the O. I was curious if I would ovulate right away or if it would take a while so I decided to start testing.

I use the clear blue easy predictor sticks. You get 7 sticks for $39.99 at most drug stores. They have it right near the pregnancy tests. Basically you pee on the stick and if you get a happy face, you'll be ovulating within 48 hours (i beleive) and if you get a round circle, no ovulation.

No smiley yet!!! Today is CD18, so i'm going to keep on trying. I never thought a smiley would make me feel so validated!

they are roughly around $40
but they do come with a digital pregnancy test in each box.. and those are expensive as well.. so i guess its worth it overall ..
i LOVE the CBE digitals!! they work great!

we are not actively TTC yet...but when we start in Feb. i want to use OPK's right away. although, i am not going to tell DH....well, he may know i have them (b/c he will prob be with me when i buy them...but i am going to try not to go into detail with him about everything, b/c it may freak him out)...i will never forget when i explained Deanna's plan to him...he was like....."ok, WAY more info then i needed to know"

I used them right off the bat- I was trying to work within a timeframe and wanted to do everything possible to help things along.

Once you buy the test and figure out how long your cycle is..the box will tell you when to start testing...a normal 28 day cycle I believe they tell you to start testing on CD 10..so it depends on your cycle.
