how much are your taxes on your house?
just curious....we are house hunting and i can not believe that majority of homes we are looking at have taxes way over $10,000!
mine are currently $8,000. we live on 1 acre and have 2000 sq house with an inground pool, garage (not sure what else increases taxes). i guess we are getting a bargain lol
we are looking for smaller property and same size house, i just cant believe how much they go up when you move a town over!

6700 ish after star? i forget exactly.

We are about $12K before star. That's Town of Babylon plus Village taxes. 2300 Square foot house on 80 x 100.
We are house hunting as well and the taxes are mind boggling. It really has opened my eyes as to why there is a "brain drain" here on Long Island.

The house we bought last year had taxes of 17K, but was already in the grieving process. We knew the house was way over assessed so felt confident we would win. The taxes were reduced by 4K so they're 13 without star. The grievance company suggests we grieve again.

$13,800 without STAR. I just got approved so I'll see what it goes down to next year.
I'm in Wantagh with Levittown schools.

mine or $9500 before star. I refused to buy house that had taxes over $10K cause I knew that taxes would just go up

ours were about $20k when we bought our house but the assessment value was way off, and it was grieved down to $16k which is more in line with our area. It's absolutely insane to me still. 60x100 property, 3300 sf house, nassau.

18k plus w/o STAR
1800 sq ft ranch (3br/2ba) on 1 acre
We're in the beginning stages of an addition and renovation so we estimate our taxes will be around 25k when done.
(We have one neighbor that is paying over 50k in taxes because they built a new and larger home. And we don't live in some ritzy area.  )

8k with star. 1800 sq ft hi ranch half acre Suffolk.
We were just reassessed for our in ground pool they are going up $300
We were looking to trade up- three village area- but the houses we were looking at were all at least $15k in taxes. We are putting on an extension instead of moving

We pay @ 7100 with star in Queens--so on top of that we also pay income tax which I would guess is @ 10k a year....
