We rent. We pay 1100 a month for a 3 bedroom apt in Queens. I have lived here for 18 years (my mother passed away, I took over) and the rent went up from 950 to the current. We do not pay for heat or hot water.

If I don't include the taxes the mortgage is around 1300.
But since I don't have a choice to pay taxes or insurances why don't I just tell you what I pay - $1981 per month for a 2 bedroom 1 bath home on Long Island...

1,200/month for a 4 bedroom/2 bath home without taxes and insurance in Nassau. I paid 10k/year in taxes.

about $800 a month incl. taxes
3 bed 2.5 bath
but i am in a small town in Canada lol much dif than there!
ETA my taxes are approx. $3200/year so i guess my monthly without taxes is just over $500
insurance per month is $65
i feel lucky now!

Mortgage = $792
Maintenance = $674
Total = $1,466
that includes everything.. electricity, heat, hot water, snow removal, trash pickup, and anything that breaks in my house (i.e. plumbing, electrical work, windows, screens, etc...)
