How much do you spend per- week?

on gas, food, living, eating out, nails etc

I need to figure out if I am out of my mind

obviously as a realtor I spend a ton on gas- but I feel like what I spend is excessive

I take 300 out of the bank every Saturday and I usually have about 50 left by the following Saturday. I get my nails done every other week and spend about 100 at the grocery store in addition to my big bi- weekly food shopping which I use DH's business card for.

I said $200. Our weekly grocery bill is about $150 and then I estimated about $50 for other little things during the week. Ok, now that I'm thinking about it, I should've said $300

Me personally -- on average probably around $100. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I get gas every other week, I eat lunch out every work day but no more than $10/day on average. I don't grocery shop every week but when I do, I coupon so that's never more than $50/trip.

This doesn't include paying bills. If it did, I'd bump it up to about $200-$300 depending on the week.

it really depends ... my credit card is about $1000 per month but about $300 of that is bills (LIPA, cablevision, cell phone). That does not include DH's spending.

So i'd say for me, it's about $200 per week, give or take.

Some weeks are MUCH higher than others though (if i go out with friends a lot, or go shopping, etc)

ETA: DH pays goes grocery shopping for us - that's prob $100 per week

I said $300, this is for a family of 5 and includes everything, but not including bills.

Ugh to much. I said $300. My food bill is about $150.00 per week, then gas for our 2 trucks is about $100. Then little things like coffee, and lunches when we don't bring it, or take out once a week.

It varies --depends if I bought lunch or not not, and how many random trips to Rite Aid I made, but we do eat out 2 nights.

My guess would be $400 for the 2 of us, but I could be way off.

We spend about $25/week on gas. DH drives to work and works close to the house. I take the subway but have commuter benefits so it's taken straight from the first check of the month for my Metrocard ($104/month...pretty much avarages out to $25'ish a week)

Groceries are about $40-50/week.

Wine and/or beer, per month...about $75. Figure $20/week.

Eating out varies widely. It'll be either next to nothing or about $100.

I'm not a mani/pedi kind of girl, nor am I much of a shopper for clothes...any purchases I make for 'stuff' is sporadic, same with DH.

ETA: I voted for $200. It can certainly be more if we are buying non-essential stuff. But looking at the numbers above, it's about $150.
And yes, for my budget, wine and/or beer is considered essential.

I allocate $100 for two weeks of food for a family of 3. $100 for two weeks of gas.

We don't eat out. I do my own nails.

So.. $100 a week TOPS

I don't get my nails done often. When I do, I pay for that with my "play money"

DH doesn't spend any money. His car and and gas comes out of the business

I say about 200-300....i spend about 100 on fooding shopping but i dont go every week. i get 50 gas every other week and so does DH

i dont get my nails done and we eat out someitmes

Typical week:

Food (family of 4): 150 - includes groceries, any take out or occassional dessert or goodies.

Gas: $50 every 2-3 weeks per car (we have 2.. so figure 20 per week per car?)

With Rob out of work still I have eliminated mani/pedi's and hair appointments for the most part.. but I do get my brow's waxed 1x per month for 30 with tip.. so broken up it would be 7.5/week.

That would be about 180 per week give or take for a family of 4.

gas dh puts in my car, but it's about 40-45/week

i take any where from 25-50/week for myself-this covers my nails, lunches at work, sodas, etc

our "grocery money" covers food for the house, beer/wine/beverages and if we go out..that i get 100/week for the 2 of us combined-usually works out to be about ..

30-40 week for food
20-40 week for beverages
20-50 week to go out

It's just two of us and two kitties. But I take my parents out for dinner too..sigh..I don't know.

Oh Lord, the kitties...they are eating and pooping machines...add litter and food.

We don't drive a lot so our gas is about $150 a month.

It's really food and drug store stuff. Food is a lot.

We both have long commutes so a lot on gas. We also eat out at least once or twice a week. Plus $100/week on groceries.

I don't know the number but its a lot more than most people answered- especially for just two people!

Beth, you are going to spend more if you eat all organic foods, even if you cook more now. I spent $10 on a small thing of pre-made organic pesto sauce. The dish I included it in could have been ordered from a restaurant for the price I paid to make it but at least I know what is in it b/c the only thing pre-made was the pesto.

I actually have no idea All I know is that our bills are paid and we still save each month. I spend more than DH spends as I go out w/ my friends often, beauty treatments (waxing, mani/pedis, hair), occasional Starbucks, shopping, Pilates membership, etc.
