I was going to hold out thinking she may be a little young for such a messy activity but I saw that Crayola makes ones that they say are completely washable - lets hope!

My DS loves to color, he's 18 months. He sees my older ones doing it so has to be involved. Im not ready to take the plunge into messier stuff with him though.

Andy loves to color with crayons. He's a bit obsessed.

I'm sure he'd love fingerpainting, but I've decided to let that be a school activity. Sarah only does it at school, and he'll get to do that at school next year too. I don't want to deal with the mess, even if it is washable. I'm kinda mean that way.

I started with Kaitee when she was about 8 months old. She loves it. I still have her first "masterpiece" hanging on the wall in my kitchenChat Icon

Re: how old to finger paint?

hannah started painting and stuff around 15 months...and did GREAT with it (of course u sit there and help and show her what to do)....BUT, even though she has been great with it for 3 months, watch out for this when u go to take the pasta off the stove and strain it out...(about 30 seconds)...

she loves the way the paint feels after getting into it, she squeezes it in her hands, puts it on her face....haha....

OMG my friends son loves to paint. He also loves to have a sly suck on a paintbrush. His mother swears he has streaks of flourescent paint in his dirty diapers!
