HUGE Tick on my dog

Of course I got her card from the vet on Sat regarding her yearly vaccination for Lymes but I just found a HUGE engorged tick on her. Now my other problem being that I don't think my Dh put on her FrontLine for this month. What should I be worried about?

I saved the tick to show the Vet but do I have to worry about some type of infection? TIA

Keep the area as clean as you can.

Apparently it's a myth that infection is caused by the tick head being stuck in the dog.

We kept on eye on Dottie's bite and put neosporin on it for the first few days. It's already scabbed over and she's doing just fine.
