You did the right thing, as much as it sucks.
yeah i agree - i know it is hard b/c nothing is worse than seeing your DH disappointed i'm sure once you actually close on the house - which is such a stressful thing - you and him will be much happier that you are finally IN the house and then, hopefully, you can search and find the car. maybe it will work out in the long-run and you'll find one you like better (either b/c of color or maybe price). that would be great.

Aww, I understand how bad you must feel. It's not YOUR fault though. You were just the voice of reason.
It just wasn't meant to be.

Aww....We bought my car 3 days before we closed on our house..... Not sure why it would cause a problem as long as the bank knows about it....
You never want to tell the bank you are buying a car before you close. That could cost you your house.
A bank qualifies you for your morgage based on current DTI ratios. If you add a car to your credit report that skews these numbers.
I am sure there is fine print in your committment letter or loan documents that state a committment may be taken away if your credit profile changes.
NO, actually our commitment letter stated that for any large purchases we needed to inform the bank ahead of time.......
We did, they said it was fine and wouldn't affect the mortgage and we went ahead with teh purchase.
Where you get in trouble is if you go ahead and make the purchase WITHOUT informing the bank, then they can revoke everything..
We really had no option. My car completely broke down and I needed to get work to pay for the mortgage... It was all a matter of informing the correct people and following policy and procedure............. It may also vary from bank to bank that is doing the mortgage and what your credit score is and individual circumstances.........
DH has an STI...he says to check out NASIOC.com.......... it is a forum for suby owners and he may be able to find one on there...if not is he is a hard core suby owner you just gave him the quivalent of LIF addiction!!

Have you looked at the other Subaru STI's? They do have other models with the turbo that are STI, tho they may not be the same size.
