I have the Nikon D40 but wanted to get the Nikon D3000...
is it worth it? Does anyone have any feedback on the D3000?

From what I've read on here and elsewhere, the D3000 is replacing the D40, so if you are looking to upgrade, I'd probably look into something else

Yes, they are pretty much the same..... If your looking to upgrade, your next step would be the D90 or D300s.
