I just read that the Huntington Station Toys R Us is closing
I just read that the Huntington Station Toys R Us is closing soon!
If you go to this one, where will you go once this closes? Does the Smithhaven mall area have one?
There arent that many to begin with IMO, this stinks. I also read they are going to be having clearances. I wonder if they are still taking returns too?

They are not taking returns. They are closing mid to late January.
While it is the closest for me, there is the one in Westbury I go to if I need to. But honestly, I am not a fan of TRU and shop elsewhere for toys usually.

Amazon, free 2 day shipping with amazon mom. I hate TRU and cannot remember the last time I stepped into one..

Haha...that was my 1st thought too.
TRU is part of our Sunday routine. BBB to look at toys, TRU to look at more toys, then onto Petco to look at the animals.

TRU is taking over linens and things in commack. It's right next to BRU and they will open a combo store in July. The Huntington store currently has 10% to 30% off whatever merchandise is left. Pet smart and barns and noble are also leaving that shopping center. Their leases weren't renewed. I wonder what the plans are for that shopping center?

There is a BRU/TRU right across the street from thevsmithhaven mall.

Oh no! I am really surprised by this. That shopping center is always packed! If BBB leaves, I am moving. 
Maybe Target will go in there?
In the Commack center, they just put in a tool store in most of the LNT space but I guess they are using the rest of the space for the combo store? It doesn't look like a lot of room though.

WHAT????????? Our dog goes to Petsmart doggie daycare at that location three times a week!!!

I am not suprised by this, I did not love that store.
I love the BRU in Commack and am dissapointed they are making it a combo store. I go to the combo TRU/BRU in Lake Grove and find that the selection, particulary in the BRU section, is lacking as compared to the solo BRU store. What we REALLY need around the Smithaven mall area is a Buy Buy Baby, I like them sooooo much better than BRU. In terms of TRU near Huntington, that really stinks that it is leaving because to get to Commack from Huntington, while it's relatively close is a PIA with all the traffic!

I am so mad!!! Was so easy since I live behind the mall to just run there quick.
I wonder what they are doing in that parking lot? It's such a busy spot!
I also read no returns will be accepted, but I can't see them not taking it back at another store after the fact.

I hate the hybrid stores too. Personally for the BRU stuff, I prefer an actual BRU store. On a side note, I'm not a fan of the Huntington TRU...Its always messy to me. The TRU in Sayville (my closet location) is smaller, but I find it easier to get around.
The Smithhaven TRU/BRU is MASSIVE

I just hope that BBB and Bed Bath & Beyond stay there

If BBB & bed, bath leave, I'm moving too lol There is already limited stores around like that.

I am so mad and upset. I live behind the shopping center/ mall. I think it is a great row of stores. Everything you could need. Barnes and noble ( now leaving) , michael's , bbb, bbb, toys r us, Petsmart. And then ofcourse the mall next door.
I get my dog food at Petsmart, he gets groomed there, he has been boarded there. It was so convenient.
I would just take DD to the stores to walk around and pass time. It was great. Now what?
I did hear that Simon mall plans to expand. Not sure I'm thrilled about that. I love it the way it is.

I agree! I can't see Simon Mall expanding from the Mall all the way to that area, I can see them doing something like the Source, a smaller Mall with Restaurants, etc..
We shall see

I thought they put a Harbor Freight where the old LNT used to be? 
NM...looks like they put HF next to where LNT used to be.

I'm not so disappointed about the TRU closing. I'm another one who prefers not to shop there for Toys. The store always seems so messy.
I am VERY upset though about the B&N going out I live right down the block from this shopping center and I couldn't wait for DD to be old enough to go there for the story time. I love book stores and this one was a favorite for me and DH. We go there for coffee.
Rumor has it that the mall i going to be expanding. Not sure exactly where or how but DH has his business right in that area so he has a little "in" with the landlords. He is going to do a little researching. I'll be sure to share any news I find out.
