I know I should find another doctor...(Long vent)

I just don't have time for this crap!

I got a call back after hours yesterday from my doctor regarding whether we are going to give me anything to start my period and when I tried to call back I got the answering service because the office was closed. The doctor didn't leave another number for me to call to get a hold of her. SOOOOOO frustrating. So I called this morning and she is not in the office, she is at the hospital today...which she didn't mention in her message either. I talked to a receptionist who couldn't even find my records in the system, She keeps asking me "And you have been to see her recently? I don't see anything in here" And she keeps asking me to verify my information. So needless to say I am peeved. I ask her "You don't have ANY record of me being there - where would that information normally be kept" She says " In the computer but for some reason it doesn't look like it was entered for that day" I then say "You know what...I will just call back tomorrow, thanks" and I hung up.
There was no point me staying on the phone as she obviously did not know what was going on, and I am standing in the break room at WORK. Then she calls back and I can't take the call so I decline it, she calls back again right away and I CANNOT TAKE THE CALL and leaves a message that starts with an exasperated sigh "Well- I wish you wouldn't have hung up on me because I was trying to find your records and I found that you have two records that need to be merged and the doctor didn't leave any notes in your record so she probably wants to talk to you so you will have to call back tomorrow, but I wish you wouldn't have hung up on me so I could tell you that."
WHAT? I didn't hang up on you, I told you I would call back tomorrow. You calling me back and telling me that I would have to call back was unecessary, obviously I have other things to do, its 10am on a Thursday morning, I can't wait around all day for you to fumble with your computer system and then proceed to tell me that I need to call back anyway....GRRRRR.......
Of course I am aware that my tone was probably aggravated as I was talking to her but I am starting to get the feeling that they just don't care. I am also aware that I am not the most important person in the world and my problem is not a life or death, but it's important to me and I wish it would be treated as such.
Sorry...this was long, but I just needed to vent. I just don't have the time to find another doctor. So frustrating, I never thought I would want to get my period this bad

I have learned over the years that as much as you think your dr's care about you...you are one in a ton of patients and sadly, they just don't care as much as you think they do.
Bummer someone in the office can't just prescribe provera over the phone for you.
Who is your dr. if you don't mind my asking?

that seems like it was the icing on the cake. Onto a RE- don't even bother with another OBGYN

I am sorry you are going through this! What kind of doctors office is this that doesn't enter information in? When the office visit is done the file should be handed to the receptionist and she should enter all the information that needs to go in!! There is no need for the receptionist to call you back like that and say..you shouldn't of hung up on me! How rude and Crude!!! GRRR!!!!! What town you live in? Do you want to switch? I have a great office I go to! FM me if you want details!!

I am sorry you are going through this! What kind of doctors office is this that doesn't enter information in? When the office visit is done the file should be handed to the receptionist and she should enter all the information that needs to go in!! Please, please don't think you are a failure. Getting pregnant is not an easy task, regardless of what we think and who we know (i.e. friends/family members who get pregnant 1,2,3). You have had a lot come at you in the last few weeks. Take a step back and digest it all. An RE may be the best step, but if insurance plays into it, maybe seeking a new OB/GYN may be better for you?

I think if you are doign the try but not thing then you need to step back and really just get back to that. While I still think you need to get soemthign to get your period from your Dr. and deal with that. I think if you step back to the try without trying you will take some stress off the whole process. To me try without trying means doing nothing more than at anytiem during the month. No tracking, temping etc.

True. That is what we are going to try and do. My doctor said that she wanted to give it 5 more months or just trying and relaxing, and she wants me to lose weight (which I wanted to do anyway) and then if it doesn't happen by then, to do a couple of cycles of clomid and then see and RE.

What I am going to do now: Try and get my cycles normal. Just whenever the H-E-L-L we feel like it, while trying to lose weight and use the time to pay off some more debt. If in 5 months it hasn't happened I will revisit this issue. I just think I am putting to much pressure on myself. Guess I should give the boards a rest too.

This board can hurt as much as it can help. I don't know if its possible to try without trying and be active on this board.

Thanks...I guess there were two records for me and she was looking at the wrong one in the system. Unfortunately I don't live in NY (I used to, which is why I was recommended this site by a friend), I know I should find a new doctor. I am going to try to get some recommendations from local gal friends and see what I can find.
