YOU GO GIRL!!!! I am very proud of you I stopped smoking in 1989(YES i use to smoke ) but my cousin and friends all helped me to stop and i got yelled at by a couple of friends when i smoked. but i did it I chewed gum i chewed in a ice cream bar stick. you can do it they also have the patch that helps you too. goodluck from one non smoker to another

When I quit I went on the patch, but I don't know if you can do that while TTC. To help with the oral fixation I would eat pretzel sticks and drinks lots of diet coke and water.
During the times when you want one the most like eating, drinking, or drinking coffee (those were mine  ) I would let the urge pass, and eventually it would feel better.

Donna- I am soo very proud of you. Yo uhave taken the hardest and bravest first step! I don't have any tips to add that haven't already been shared but I wanted to give you support! Darren and I quit in Feb of last year and even though it was hard, it wasn't impossible!
You CAN do this. Have faith and lean on your friends in weak moments.

I just wanted to throw in an added incentive - put the money you would normally spend on cigarettes to the side and get your self something special after a month. You'll be surprised how much it can add up to.

It gets easier....I quit almost 3 years ago and I never think about smoking anymore it actually makes me sick to smell cigarette smoke(even before I got pregnant)

Donna, this is the greatest gift you could give yourself. Good luck and stick with it, it will be soooo worth it in the end.

I have to say today WAS HARD and Im proud I made it this far and hope it gets easier!!
THANKS SO MUCH for all your support. I decided it would be embarassing to announce it and then have to say I failed, so its almost like an extra dose of encouragement to "come out" about it.
