If you banked your baby's cord blood
Sorry to crash- just a quick question- if you banked your baby's cord blood, did your doctor charge you to collect it and if so, how much?
I just wanted to see if my ob's $250 charge is reasonable.

Yes...
My OB office charged $300.
Check with who you are banking with, sometimes they will reimburse you a portion of the OB's fee.

I banked the cord blood for both my boys and delivered with two different doctors and never got a fee from either.
ETA: IMO, $250 is ridiculous. Just a way for them to make money.

I don't believe that my OB charged. I could be wrong, that time is a blur but I doubt it.

I did not bank I donated so I didn't pay anything, but when I mentioned to my labor and delivery nurse that the md charges 250-she was like "what? I am the one that does everything"...so I am not sure what they are charging for, I think just to make money.

My OB charged $400, that's the upper limit, I would think. We didn't have much choice, I loved my OB, even more today, than I did when I was seeing her for visits.
I don't remember what was reimbursed but something somewhere was.

My ob doesnt charge. When I asked him about it though, he even said it was a BS charge for doctors to make money.
