If you get a CVS, can you not get an amnio also if you need?

If you get a CVS, can you not get an amnio also if you need?
And for those who have had a CVS, what exactly does it entail?
I am trying to decide if I should just do the CVS, but am nervous if I feel like I want/need further testing-- I miss out on what the amnio provides in terms of the range of things it tests for.

CVS tests for most things amnio does, but there are definitely more things with amnio. No reason you couldn't do both.

I had both.
I had abnormal cells on my placenta and they didn't know if it was also with the baby. Odds were that it wasn't, but we went with the amnio to be sure. (and it did confirm not on the baby)
They did additional testing with the amnio.
CVS does not test for spina bifida - amnio does.
