If you had a MC/D&C and are TTC or pregnant again

When did you start trying again? How soon after the D&C ?
Also what happens after D&C ? as in did you have to go back to the OBGYN to get more tests (blood tests) done before TTC or did you just start?

My OBGYN said we have to wait at least 6 weeks , wait for my cycle/ovulation to become regular again...
Not that I think I have it in me to TTC any time soon after this. Sometimes I feel like this was it and I just can't deal with another pregnancy, we'll see...
But I just wanted to ask.
My D&C is scheduled for tomorrow and tomorrow can't come soon enough, the thought that I have been walking around like this for days is killing me and to have to go another day is not helping. Can't get the sonogram image of the fetus with no HB out of my head ....

I'm am so sorry for your loss...

I just had my 2nd D&C this year. After the 1st one we waited until I got AF (5 weeks after D&C) and then started ttc. I got pg after 3 months but had another MC. We will do the same this time, wait until I get AF and then start again.

My dr told me to wait 3 cycles to start ttc again... You will have some sort of follow up after your d&c. I only had an internal exam, no sono or blood work.

One doc told me to wait one cycle, the other told me to wait three months. I waited two cycles which was almost three months.

Not that it matters. It seems I'm not ovulating anyway. Sigh...

At my follow up appointment I had a sono and exam, no bloodwork.

i'm so sorry
my doctor told us to wait until i went through one complete, natural cycle. i had to go for a follow up 4 weeks after the d&c at which time they took bloodwork to make sure my hcg level had gone down to under 5 on it's own... everything seemed normal, so they said to wait for my period and then we could try again.
i got my period about 5 and a half weeks after my d&c and did start trying again - we only had one cycle of trying so far and it wasn't our time
i have gone through an emotional rollar coaster, i was a WRECK when i found out i lost the baby and for a few weeks straight - then once i got my period, i felt better bc i knew i could try again and didn't feel so much like my life was at a standstill. it not having worked though, even though i know rationally it doesn't JUST happen in one month like that for everyone, i guess i couldn't help but get my hopes up and suffered a huge blow when AF came.
there will be days that are harder and days that are easier, but each day of this journey is just that - a journey. take it one day at a time, it will be an emotional process much more than a physical one. and know we are all here

I went for a follow up with my doc about 2 weeks after my d&c. They did a sono to make sure everything was out, which it was. My doc told me I could start trying whenever I wanted to. Everyones doc has a diff answer. In my mind it just felt right to wait until my first period came. AF showed up 5 weeks later and I couldn't have been happier to see her. We started trying that month ( which happened to be this Oct). Good luck. Everything will be ok and you will be back to ttc in no time !

I am so truly sorry for your loss My Dr. told me to wait 3 cycles before TTC. I only waited 2 cycles and got pregnant on the third.

My RE said waiting is an "old school" way of thinking, that you don't have to wait anymore (at least past the first natural cycle). I'm waiting to miscarry on my own instead of having a d&c, and then I have to wait until my next period to start my IVF cycle.

I was told by my DR to wait at least two cycles before trying again.

I am sorry for your loss. My doc said to wait 2 whole cycles and then start again. It feels like an eternity. My d&c was july 28th and I just finally had 2 cycles.

With my first mc I started trying right after the I got my period after the D&C. After my second mc I waited approx 6 months. I wanted to get back genetic testing back on the baby and then follow up with testing for myself. Mainly, I felt like I just needed to emotionally heal and wasn't ready to get back in the game until I was mentally 100%ready. I think it varies greatly with each person and even varied with myself.
