Yeah, my dh thinks to sit on the couch too! AND then I get his Arse right back up. I have the same routine as you...its hard and it sux.

It's just MEN in general. They have NO IDEA what we do on a daily basis.
There was an email about this not too long ago - I hope I can find it.
If your DH is anything like mine - he will do things when asked (or nagged to death) but won't do it on his own (ex: take out the garbage, the recylcling, clean up his clothes, put dishes in the dishwasher, bring his clothes upstairs ETC) --- So - maybe try making a list of things that he NEEDS to do to help you out. You work full time - and cannot do it all. He needs to realize that.

I felt like that too, except DH likes to play some stupid computer game. Well I finally told him that it was getting to me. Why was it that after he would put DS to bed he would go straight on the computer and walk through the toys, PICK UP THE TOYS or clean the dishes in the sink for me. I wasn't asking for a lot. Now he only plays his game when the kids go down at night. Whoever is done putting one child to be first cleans up all the toys.
Maybe you tell him that if he wants to go out he can but after RJ goes to bed? You also need to spend time with him and not just when you are sleeping next to each other at night.

I TOTALLY feel your pain...I am in the same boat, and now that DH is back to work, he is now complaining how tired he is.

You did the right thing with pulling your son out of the class and going home...there are a bunch of lessons in that action...all good ones. Please don't be hard on yourself...you are doing an amazing job.
