Inner ear infection??
My neighbor has a Pit "Vito" My dh rescued him and gave him to her.. He has been like my own dog ever since.. My Lola plays with him, he is always in my home . I love this dog like he was my own..
We noticed a droopy face 3 days ago.. we rushed him to the vet . It looked like a stroke. He so far has been tested and has an inner ear infection so bad it ate away his membrane in his head? The vet saud that can grow back?? Noiw they are testing more for possible tumors I am sick . cant take this .. Has anyone had eperience with this? There was no sign of the infection . not shaking his head no scratching so thats why it went so long untreated. any advice or experiences? TIA

Re: Inner ear infection??
I'm so sorry you're going through this! My dog is prone to ear infections but he's never had one that badly, and he's had them pretty bad- and like you said, no signs of itching or discomfort in any way. The drops the vet gave us cleared it up in less than a week though and they haven't bothered him since, though we clean them regularly now. Hope he's feeling better soon.

Re: Inner ear infection??
I'm sorry, poor puppy! My beagle Shep mix is so prone to ear infections and she had a bad one recently where she was walking wobbly because it was affecting her vision. We thought she was dying (she is 13 years old). We took her to the vet and they gave her antibiotics and something else and she was better within a day.
we felt very guilty too, hope your pup feels better soon!

sounds like the same thing with my dog What the vet told us is that basically they feel pretty crappy and "sea sick" because of how it's affecting their eyes. That's why they walk like that. It also takes away their appetite. I was COMPLETELY sobbing and prepared to expect to put her down but the vet was great and said it's NOTHING that she wouldn't recover 100% from. And she did look pitiful for a few days even though she improved vastly as soon as she had the medicine.
What the vet also recommended (if your dog is not eating) is to try to give her some baby food (chicken/turkey with cream of rice). my doggy started licking that off my fingers after some persistance. Other than that, just make sure he's comfortable and resting.
