insurance/engagement ring question

I have a halo engagement ring setting and noticed one of the little diamonds surrounding the center stone is missing. I have insurance coverage for lost/stolen jewelry, but does it cover something like a stone missing? I know it will cover if my entire ring disappeared or was stolen, but i'm not sure what to do in this situation... It will probably be pretty chep to replace, but if I could get it covered I would obviously prefer that! lol

Do you have a deductible? Depending on that, it may be cheaper to pay out of pocket.

we have it under our homeowners, so I believe there is a deductible.. Chances are it's not going to cost a whole lot to fix, but i was just kind of curious as to whether a part of a ring missing still counts, or if the entire piece of jewelry needs to go missing for insurance to cover

If you only have lost/stolen then probably not. Also there is ga general jewelry section but usually has a sub limit that is super low unless you added coverage for the expensive stuff

In that case, you would have a deductible I don’t think it covers if it “breaks” only if you were robbed and ring was stolen or if you lost it. I would just bring it to the jeweler you got it from, will likely cost a few hundred or less to replace it depending on the size. Sometimes they won’t even charge.

Bring it to the jeweler you bought it from. My DH lost one of the diamonds in his wedding band and they replaced it no charge.

lost or stolen stones as well as broken stones, are covered but need to meet deductible.

Probably not worth it to claim on insurance. I had a small side stone fall out back when I first got my ring and my ring was also from Manhattan. We just went to a local jeweler and it was only $35...I was shocked how cheap it was.
