Re: Is it rude? Honest opinions!
I don't have a dog and wouldn't mind as long as it's in a bag and tied up. I would much rather that then finding it on my lawn.

Re: Is it rude? Honest opinions!
thank you for posting about this. normally i do not walk my dog far and throw it in my garbage. however with the warmer weather i have been trying to find routes with a public garbage can.

Re: Is it rude? Honest opinions!
Yes, I think rude. I take it back to my own cans. Our pick-up is only twice a week so that kind of kills the whole " about to be picked up" argument around here. Maybe that would sway my opinion a bit though. I feel like it's hard enough finding a place for my dog to poop without being judged by neighbors.

The garbage in my neighborhood only gets picked up twice a week, also (Tues and Fri). My question was for when the can is already out on the curb -- Mon late PM, early Tues AM, Thurs late PM, and early Fri AM. Yes, my dog goes on lots of walks!

Is it rude? Honest opinions!
Not rude and our garbage is picked up weekly. It's tied up in a bag. I'd rather someone tie up and bag the poop than let their dog crap on my lawn and leave it.

And I still think you should take it home. Animals can get into trash overnight and then the homeowner would have to clean up the mess they would include your dogs poop.
It's just a little respect for others IMO.

Is it rude? Honest opinions!
If I'm taking a long walk and its garbage day and there is a can at the curb then YES I'm putting it in there. If I'm just walking the dogs around the corner then I'll take it home. I usually try to walk passed a place where there is a public garbage can so its not a big deal.

Re: Is it rude? Honest opinions!
As a dog owner, I would never do this. I do think it's rude in a way. Reason is bc whomever owns that pail may worry it will fall into the pail and go unnoticed, and also, they may not know how neatly you pick up and may worry your dog's feces will get on their pail somehow. Even though it has garbage in it, it could be a person who keeps a very clean pail. I would say only throw it out in your own pail or a town pail.

I sometimes want to but I never do. I carry it and put it in my own garbage can.

Re: Is it rude? Honest opinions!
I wouldn't care .. when I was younger and before I drove and walked everywhere I use to always throw out garbage in peoples cans that were at the curb at night. I wonder if people got pissed about that too

I don't have a dog. But if I saw someone put their dog poop even in a bag tied up in my garbage can I wouldn't be pleased.
Same here.

Yeah I have to agree. Also imo " about to be picked up" is like an hour or so before pick-up, not the night before. My cans stink in the summer even though we use dog bags.

Re: Is it rude? Honest opinions!
My first thought is-no it's fine, I'd rather you did that than not throw it out, but I am not a dog owner, and if someone put their poo bag in my trash can, and it somehow ripped opened, I would be super grossed out at having to clean that up.

Is it rude? Honest opinions!
I would never do it and I am a dog owner. I would not be happy if someone came on my property to use my garbage pail even if it is at the curb awaiting pick up.

Re: Is it rude? Honest opinions!
I won't do it but DH does it all the time. I wouldn't be bothered at all if I saw someone put it in my garbage can at the curb and as long as it was tied up. One time, this lady went nuts on DH about how he was disgusting and her kids get sick because of people like him. Soooo, I am too scared to ever put my waste in someone else's pail now

I don't think it's rude. As a dog owner I could care less but I love dogs. I also wouldn't care if someone put wrappers or small garbage in my garbage can if it's going to be picked up.

I do this. Not rude. Garbage is garbage.
I agree, although I do not do it because I don't have a dog. Better than leaving it, or other garbage in the street. So long as it's not ruining the trash can, what's the big deal?

Re: Is it rude? Honest opinions!
I wouldnt be please if someone did it. We have a raccoon problem where we are and every night, someones garbage pail is ALL over from htem. If there is someone else's dog crap in there, guess who has to clean that up in the morning?
Bottom line.....it's not yours. Don't touch it.

Re: Is it rude? Honest opinions!
I have 2 dogs and have done it. I also have had bagged poop in my garbage. As long as it's bagged, I rather it in the can than on my lawn.
