Re: Is it worth it to buy a glider/rocker?
Yes!!! definitely get one. Once you move her to her crib you will want to be able to rock her. i practically lived in that chair for the first year of my son's life and I use it all the time with my daughter now as well. I got the biggest, most comfortable recliner I could find at buy buy baby! There are pics of it in the album of my nursery.

Re: Is it worth it to buy a glider/rocker?
We used it a lot. I nursed in it, rocked DS to sleep in it and also used it to calm DS down when he was fussy.

Still use ours and DD is 3.
same here..had it since day 1, used it every single night since, and ds is 3. I dread when we are away and there is no glider where I can rock him, since that's the only way he'll fall asleep with me. With my parents he just goes to bed, but I spoiled him. I love it though. It's always been our bonding time

I only used ours when DS was 4 mths old & sick with pneumonia. We lived in it together. But that's really it.

Re: Is it worth it to buy a glider/rocker?
My DD is 2 and I still use mine EVERY single day. LOVE it! We read every night in the glider and when she's in her room playing she climbs up into the glider and reads by herself. Best investment I made!

Re: Is it worth it to buy a glider/rocker?
If you like it then yes. I sat in one in the store and almost puked- the motion was making me seasick!
We also have no room for one- I can't even imagine where I'd put something like this- our rooms are TINY! pPus i am not the type to sit in a glider feeding the baby and rocking back and forth. I like to watch my Tivo shows while feeding her! I can't just stare at the walls while she takes a bottle!
But I am in a HUGE minority...everyone else seems to love it. It's totally not for me though. But then again- I am NOT your typical mom or woman, or person. I'm a freak!

Without a doubt, the best money I spent...I actually wish I'd invested more and gotten the one I loved instead of the one I liked...

Re: Is it worth it to buy a glider/rocker?
I was given one as a gift. Actually I was told to buy whatever I wanted and they'd use their card to buy it. Very generous.
I got one that looks like a regular fully apolstered chair. Thick etc just sat on a rocker type thing underneath
I LOVED IT Still do
For us the selling point was the first time she was sick with a raging ear infection (we didn't know what it was then) and the ONLY way she'd sleep was sitting upright so I held her on my shoulder and we both slept in that chair. Other nights of teething and UTI and more and more ear infections, gassiness..
That chair paid its dues and then some.
It now lives in our living room - has since she was about 10m old.
She knows its 'her chair' and will sit with us and watch TV squished beside us (which is another reason I picked it). I can sit and read her a book with her sitting next to me or hold her in my arms when she's sick and her feet are propped on one side and her head on the other.
She puts her toys to sleep on it and turns them around and around (she likes that trip too ha)
Ours is mircofiber etc and I LOOOOOOOOVE it!

Re: Is it worth it to buy a glider/rocker?
Absolutely! I have sat in the glider almost every day since we had it delivered. It was great for nursing and feeding and now it's nice to unwind and put my feet up. Also, the kids like to read stories in the glider before going to bed. DH loves relaxing in it too!

Re: Is it worth it to buy a glider/rocker?
We got one from Potter Barn-the Ecoglider. Since I stopped using it, it blends into our home decor beautifully. I personally am not a fan of those "typical looking" gliders or rockers and I was afraid that I would not get use out of it so therefore we picked one that we really like looks-wise and post baby functionality-wise. I still don't think I used it to its full potential so I am glad we got a white slipcovered one.

Re: Is it worth it to buy a glider/rocker?
I was very upset before my DD#1 was born b/c we were short on room and didn't get one. Well, TBH I never needed one and fed my DDs in the same spot on the couch and it was comfortable and fine.

Re: Is it worth it to buy a glider/rocker?
We use ours all the time. We also bought a "house friendly" pattern so that if we want to eventually put it in another part of the house we can without it looking like it belongs in a baby's room.

Re: Is it worth it to buy a glider/rocker?
I think its worth it. We have one in DDs room and I use it for her night feedings. I sometimes use it during the day too for feedings or if Im trying to get her to sleep.
I have a rocking recliner; no ottoman. It takes up less space.
Sometimes I wish I had 2 chairs in there b/c DH helps me a lot but sits on the floor

Re: Is it worth it to buy a glider/rocker?
I ADORE my Best Chair! If that think could track milage, it would be through the roof! So worth the money and I got it to match other furniture in the house so it can be moved out of the nursery one day. You totally can't tell it is a glider until you sit in it. I love that chair!
