Jewish Girls & Passover
Sort of a spin off of the Lent thread, I guess ...or at least that's what made me think of it!
If you typically observe Passover, will you be observing this year?

I will. The lack of tuna will make it much more difficult though!

Re: Jewish Girls & Passover
I know when you're pregnant during Yom Kippur (which I was this past year) you are NOT supposed to fast. I would imagine it's the same for keeping kosher for passover -- that some exceptions are allowed.

I was PG through Passover TWICE. Stay away from the matzah. TRUST ME. Your intestines will thank you.

Re: Jewish Girls & Passover
I observe every year but I'm not sure I will this year. I think I'm going to take the I'll try my best approach and see how it goes. I don't eat meat or fish so it's a lot more difficult for me.

You don't fast on Passover.

I know that. I really do.
I read Springsandras post were it mentioned fasting and I just posted without having a brain. Thank you for catching that and letting my brain catch up.

Re: Jewish Girls & Passover
Thanks gals! This pretty much confirms what I was feeling - that I'll do what I can but won't drive myself crazy over it all.
Oh, and except for some Matzoh Brie that I LOVE, I'll probably avoid it as much as possible.

Re: Jewish Girls & Passover
Going to try and observe it this year. Just stay away from too much matza and have more veggies, fruits, eggs, salads, chicken soup (with less matza balls), chicken, etc.
I do love matza brie and matza ball soup Love the jelly rings too and the choc covered marshmellow Yum!

Re: Jewish Girls & Passover
I just posted this on the parenting board, lol.
The results are in: No, pg and nursing mamas don't get a pass. It's not the same as fasting; it's avoiding bread products and alcohol. BUT... if your or your baby's health will be affected by observing, have a piece of bread.
