Late walker...what age did your child walk?
My DD still doesnt' walk on her own yet, she is 15 months!! She will walk back and forth to DH and me knowing we will grab her when she falls, but that's about it. she is barefoot in the house when we do it. any ideas, is is bad that she is walking this late...what age did your child start walking? my mom said i didn't walk till i was about 15 months also. tia!

Both my sons didn't walk till 15 months....then they ran the week they walked!

DS was 16 months. I wasn't worried about it. I never pushed him, but we spent the holidays with my fam and they got him grooving

DD didn't walk until 18 months. She was evaluated at 17 months for EI and didn't qualify.
She is now almost 3 and still hitting gross motor milestones very late so she'll be getting PT through CPSE starting in September.

DS was 17 months, he tends to be on the later end of the spectrum for many gross motor skills, but he is on the very early side for fine motor - it is OK, it all evens out in the end

Almost the same. at 16.5 months she was walking inside the house, from taking no steps to taking many, BUT wouldn't walk outside, I had to hold her hand for about a good month before she took off, now you can't stop her!
I was beyond worried about her and my ped would always tell me to calm down, that if she was progressing normally, e.g cruising etc..she would walk eventually!!!

DS walked on his own at 16 months, but he spent a few months walking holding our hands/objects before that. It was more of a confidence issue than anything else!

nearly 18 months. I was worried. But the pediatrician wasn't concerned at all because he stood up and used furniture to walk. He said as long as he was easily putting weight on his legs he was fine with it.
He also didn't crawl until almost 11 months.

DS took his first steps at 15 months. He had been cruising and holding onto our hands for several months, but would drop to the floor if we tried to let go of his hands. He's pretty cautious so I guess it wasn't too surprising that he preferred holding our hands or a push toy. He was walking FT 10 days after taking his first steps.

DD walked the day of her 14 month "bday" but then was running w/i a week & was very sure on her feet.
DS is 14.5 months & just yesterday took a couple of steps.

16 months and 1 week... She just stood up and walked on her own.... She really never crawled again except when playing on the floor occasionally.

DD started walking at 15 & 1/2 months.....same as your DC.....and then one day I put a dress on her that was too long to crawl in....ans shehas walked ever since!
