The house I am in contract on they are. But the boiler is blocked off with a door. Is there any seperation between the two? I didn't think twice about it

We have something similar and I like it! When we finished everything off we made them into separate rooms. I hang a lot of clothes in the nice warm boiler room

We have this in our home, and I don't mind it. Our laundry room doubles as a bathroom, so to separate it we installed vertical sliding blinds which hides everything when guests are over. And like the pp said, it's so warm in the winter in there that I actually like it.

Re: laundry and boiler inthe same room...
Is there some sort of safety issue with this? I would have preferred laundry not be in my basement but otherwise this is not an issue to me.

Re: laundry and boiler inthe same room...
Both our laundry and boiler are in the basement.
Given what just occured with the hurricane, and we lost all of these appliances, I would prefer they not be. Unfortunately, our home is super tiny already and there's really no where else for them to go, unless DH made some kind of seperate closets in the kitchen which would probably end up looking ridiculous, and we would lose even more space.
On a positive, unless you are in an area near the water or that has a history of flooding, you should be okay with having this stuff down there.

Ours are all in the same room, and I love it! It's nice and warm, and an extremely spacious room. We plan on putting cabinetry down there and tiled floors.

I agree with the pp I also have my laundry area next to the boiler. I have never given it a second thought. Heck I'm just so happy I never have to drag large laundry bags to the laundromat.

Re: laundry and boiler inthe same room...
My boiler and laundry are both in the mud room. No issues. If anything, it's nice having the boiler in there.............makes the clothes on the drying rack dry faster since its warmer in there.
ETA - Mine aren't in a basement. We have a ranch with no basement.
