Where do you shop that you constantly see people double masked and with gloves? I have not seen that at all since like June of 2020.
Me either. I've literally not seen a single person ANYWHERE that's double masked or wearing gloves. She's so FOS. She just says random things in order to push her narrative.
I guess I should take a picture next time. SMH. Our consultant at Home Depot just the other day was double masked like she was a few months ago when we went to her. Do you want her name? Go take a look since you don’t believe me? You can go where we went last night where maybe 4 people out of hundreds was not masked. I am sure you don’t believe that either.
Unlike you, I don't give a single $hit what anyone chooses to do. You have some relentless obsession with whether people choose to mask or not, I don't pay attention when I'm out because IDGAF what other people do. Don't you have anything better to do they tally up who is masked and who isn't at EVERY store you go into?
If someone wants to wear a hazmat suit, more power to them. Double makers and glove wearers are certainly the minority (especially now) and again, who cares????? You obviously cannot handle that there are people who choose to live their lives differently than you, you really need to get a life. Obsessing over strangers wearing or not wearing a mask is kinda mental.
Don't you have anything better to do than constantly attacking her? It's bizarre. Why do you have to say she is FOS and creating her own narrative if you, yourself, are saying you don't even pay attention? If you don't pay attention then how would you even know if she is FOS? You are the one who comes off as an aggressive weirdo.
She's a liberal. Liberal's just spew shit from their mouth and hope something comes out right.
It’s only me she attacks as so many said the same thing to her and she passed them right by. She has such hatred for me, it is so odd. I don’t even know her IRL for her to know me personally.
Tiny violin time.
Your nonsense is repeatedly called out by many. Give it a rest.

I guess this is off?
New York State Education Department has directed schools that masks are still required until further notice.
Our BOE had an emergency zoom meeting tonight and said no masks tomorrow. They felt the directive from the governors office should take precedence over the education dept. They said (i listened in as they shared the link)..."let then slap our hand tomorrow, masks are optional as of tonight. " They said a letter will go out shortly to the district. This was about 30 minutes ago. We shall see
Our district retracted their Saturday announcement and now masks are required today but they are allowing frequent mask breaks. Many are keeping their kids home.
Why are they keeping kids home? They have been wearing masks all year, what's different about having to still wear them now?
I think between the heat and the fact he backtracked. There is very limited air conditioning in the school buildings. We may get out early today too but they haven't told us if we will or when it will be which is also fun.

Pretty sure it was not Coumo who backtracked but I am not 100%. I saw on the news that Sachem and Massapequa are the 2 schools going maskless today.

It was the state who backtracked but our superintendent released on Saturday that we'd be mask free today prior to the state confirming. So he had to send out a retraction of his first letter. It's definitely not his fault BUT many are blaming him. I was happy to know as soon as masks are allowed off - they will be coming off.

I asked my Alexa and it only said a high of 78 today where I live. So I don't think it's any hotter than it was last week. We have no AC in our schools either.

Wow! It's going to be 92 degrees here and I am north of LI. We just got a text that there will be early dismissal...

It's always freezing on LI. I tell you- I sit in my yard some days and it feels 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the world. I was surprised too when I looked at my weather app on my phone this morning- everyone was saying how hot this week would be- and I see 78 as a high today. I asked Alexa and she told me the same. It's the cold water around us I swear.

82 by me, not much different than 78. I do hope though that there’s some wind or breeze otherwise it’ll def feel hotter especially in closed places like classrooms.

Re: Masks encouraged but not required in NY schools
Why is it so hard to believe there still a good amount of people wearing masks, double masks, and even gloves?!? I’ve seen a few this past weekend btw. It’s almost as if they don’t see it then it must be a lie. Supper odd!
Regarding to schools still making these poor kids wearing masks in hot weather is so despicable IMO. Good for PatMed, Sachem, Massapequa, and I believe there’s another district doing the same but can’t remember. As for the rest of the districts, they need to grow a pair because they obviously do not have children as their priority.

Funny as they showed Jill Biden and Fauci on LI this weekend and they both had masks on, everyone around them with masks on and a secret service double masked. Hopefully they don’t have to reverse the decision and hope other schools follow suit.

For once in my life I'm proud of my district for standing up for the kids. I love when I heard that one board member say on the zoom last night- Let them slap our hands tomorrow then, we're going with the direction of the state from Friday... masks are optional tomorrow.

Re: Masks encouraged but not required in NY schools
It seems pretty clear that vaccinated people are safe to be maskless anywhere. Personally, I feel really secure being vaccinated, and I hate masks, so I'm good.
But it's so easy to understand why so many others still mask. An ethical unvaccinated person will follow whatever guidelines are applicable wherever they are. Especially if they are around vulnerable kids and health-compromised people.
There are also those mentally affected by the trauma of the past year for whom the thought of getting sick right now, even with something mild, and having to get checked is so stressful that mask wearing is still worth it. This group doesn't include me, but I totally have empathy. Live and let live.
So many other possibilities. If I felt that I was coming down with the slightest illness and I had to go out, I would wear a mask to protect others. Not a big sacrifice. It just doesn't seem worthy of so much scrutiny. I see masked people all the time & can't imagine thinking twice.

Since they put out such stupid articles and ask so many questions on tv, I would love them to do a story with people wearing and not wearing masks and ask them why they have chosen that option. We all assume why people wear them even after vaccinated but we don’t really know. So many don’t even know about the rules about openings and restrictions as they don’t watch or read the news.

I'd like to interview the people I saw on the beach yesterday. Wearing a mask as they walked in the wide open air with nobody close to them to their seats on the sand. Are they scared of non vaccinated people who might breath Covid germs into the ocean breeze and it will be carried up their vaccinated nostrils? But if they are vaccinated themselves, wont' they be safe??

Exactly my point. I totally understand people who have issues and don’t want to be around many people but that is just ridiculous.

Well that I DO know as I know many who don’t. I have worked for years with people who had no clue about anything going on that is newsworthy. Whether it is right in their neighborhood or the world or even the weather. Then they hear things from others who have no clue either and it turns into a telephone situation. Just like this Coumo and his daughter wedding thing. It is not true but it has been spread all over the place.

DH and I (and really most of our friends & family) are vaccinated. I still wear a mask in stores most of the time because I do have emotional/mental trauma from all of this. I started to feel more comfortable a few weeks ago and then my 39 year old husband had a stroke. Not to say that it has anything to do with Covid or masks or anything like that. But, emotionally/mentally, it F&*(ked me up again. So, we're back to being a little more cautious. He has to have a heart procedure this week (as they think he has an undetected issue that caused the stroke) and I'm sure we'll enjoy fresh air privately, but will definitely be more cautious out and about. We will not double mask (never did) or wear gloves (never did), but we will be more cautious about where we are & who we are around maskless. You can never know WHY people choose to do the things they do, but you don't need to judge them- you have no idea what they are going through. Id' rather wear a mask and be ridiculed and still have my husband.

Mine wore hers on the bus and I told her she could take it off at school. I'm curious to see what she says when she comes home- I wonder if it will be a peer pressure thing where nobody takes it off unless others do. Judging by what the moms on my school facebook page were saying last night and today though, I think most kids will be taking them off. My daughter told me that she is most happy about being able to breathe in gym class. Sad, actually to hear this from a child
