I read this book "Nickle and Dimed" a long time ago about people that work for minimum wage.
Anyway, one of the jobs they followed was Merry Maids and it totally grossed me out.
All they did was kind of move dust around people's houses... things "looked" clean but they weren't really clean. They would use the same rags on toilets that they would in kitchens, stuff like that. Things you wouldnt notice when you got home.
But, that was just the franchise the author followed around. It was enough to talk me out of using a service like that.

Nickel & dimed was exactly how I felt about trying to get a quote out of them -- there were so many extras I got completely turned off. Extra $15-20 for having a cat, extra $5-25 to clean the inside of the fridge based on size, etc.

oh boy..thanks. I was just looking for my three bathrooms done and nothing else. I wonder if I should forget calling them anyway.

Check out craigs list -- they have listings for people that would charge hourly and can provide references.

I recently used them and was not happy. They were overpriced and did an ok job at best.
