Migraine Sufferers
What do you take/how do you cope?
In my lifetime, I have only had a handful of migraines and with this pregnancy, it has been once a week and they're awful! It starts over one eye and when I lift my head or stand up the room spins and I feel so sick to my stomach. I also usually throw up.
Please help! I know I can't take excedrine migraine.

Re: Migraine Sufferers
How far along are you?
I got migraines on a regular basis before I got pregnant. Once I was pregnant they increased in the beginning. After trying a whole bunch of other medicines my OB said he would rather me use my normal prescription meds (Imitrex) then put my body through the stress every time I had a migraine. However once I was out of my first trimester they completely disappeared! I didnt have one for the rest of my pregnancy and then for about 2 months after too! I was in heaven!
Hopefully the same will happen for you! If it doesnt lessen up then maybe talk to your dr. about it. B/c like mine said the stress that your body goes through when you have one is probably more harmful on your baby then the meds that would hep you. Good luck!

I'm 7 weeks tomorrow (today, actually) and it's been once weekly for 3 weeks now. I'll broach the topic with my doctor if it continues, thanks!

Re: Migraine Sufferers
I would have a cup of regular coffee. The caffine would help. Ice pack over the eyes worked wonders as wel.

Re: Migraine Sufferers
Ive always had migraines, regularly....now that I am PG with this one, I had them almost constantly in the first trimester. I cant eve tell you how much time I spent in bed. My OB said no prescription meds - so I took two tylenol with a can of coke and a bottle of gatorade. Did it do much, not really. As per usual, I found an ice pack and a nap was the best medicine. Hang in there.....like the PP said, but the 2nd trimester they were completely gone - not even one - which for me is amazing, that never happens. Hope you feel better!!!
Oh and have you tried a neti pot - my sinuses were also SO swollen that they causes migraines - never felt like sinus pain, went right to a migraine. That definitely helped too.
