Mommies I need help with a 2 year old and a BAD COUGH!
SO long story as short as possible. we were in Florida last week, DS got sick, took him to the ped. he has double ear infection and resp. infection. We got meds, he seemed better, we came home. Two days later, lots of vomit, and general malaise. back to the ped. here. Ear infections still a complete mess, lungs are clear, but he has a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE cough. He can't speak, two words, and he is hacking up a lung. It has to be painful. The only break he gets is if he can fall asleep. Since he was vomiting I can't get the oral anibiotics in for the ears, so I got drops, but that still leaves me with the cough problem.
What can I do to relieve his symptoms. I prop him up, I have a humidifior, I have given him cough medicine (which does nothing) The nebulizer doesn't help because the cough is from a sinus drip, not the lungs so much.
I am at a complete loss for my boy, and just hoping and praying a mommy out there can help me with any ideas. I feel completely helpless.....Thanks if you got this far
He has just been sick for so long, He needs a break....

I think the best thing for kids coughs is children's delysm or mucinex. i know they say no under 4 but I gave DD half the dosage and it worked wonders.
Thanks..I have used both, the delsym seemed to help him last night...
