I have been using my infant seat as if it were a convertible. Our seat weight limit is 35 lbs. I never carry him in it, we just take him in and out of the seat, but I like that he can stay rear facing longer.

Once he is out of it, I will likely get the Britax, or the Graco convertible.

I'm sure you know thisChat Icon but DC has to stay rear facing until they are 20lbs AND one (and the AAP recommends til 2)

Confused by this..Chat Icon He will stay rear facing in the seat I have now...which is a Graco Snugride 35..meaning until 35 lbs...

I think she's just saying that regardless of his weight over 20 lbs, he should be at least one year old before turning him to face forward.

Yup. That they have to be at least one and 20lbs.

Maybe I misread your post, but I read that he can stay rear facing longer as if when you move him to the convertible, he could be front facing

I love that the snugride goes to 35lbs. My son is almost 3 and 30lbsChat Icon

I think she meant they use the infant like a convertible as in they don't take the seat in & out of the car. This is what we are doing in DH's car for now.

We switched to the convertible because I couldn't comfortably lift her in the seat anymore but she's still small enough to stay in the infant seat so there was no reason to shell out $$ for a second convertible yet.

Colin will be out of his carrier anyday now.
We took Ryan out at 6 months when he was 20 + lbs.
I only have one Britax for Colin so I'll have to buy another for DH's car.

So, I will have a total of 4 Marathons Chat Icon

I bought a Graco Comfort Sport for DH's car for Ryan at one pt but he claimed Ryan was uncomfortable when in his car Chat Icon so we gave it to my FIL and got another Marathon.

I knew what she meant, we did the same thing..

I just read her post that when she switched to the convertible, DC would be forward facing , whether it be now or in 6 months, DC had to be one and 20+Chat Icon
