Moms of boys with curly hair
Ds's hair is very curly but fine, so it loses it's shape easily. It's also totally overgrown so he is finally getting his first haircut today!
Did your boys lose their curl once it was cut? How (in what style) did you ask to have it cut?

Re: Moms of boys with curly hair
My half Chinese son has curly hair. My Irish roots dominated over those Chinese genes Can you believe it? His hair is very fine and curls in the back.
Brandon hasn't had an official hair cut yet. I was getting frustrated because he was basically growing a mullet and looked like a hippy. I cut it myself. I trimmed the sides so it wasn't hanging over his ears and I layered the back. My husband was NOT happy because he liked the curls. But now that it is growing out again, it is curly again, just not as long as it was originally.

DS has curly hair. He did not lose it when it was cut, but when it is shorter it does not curl as much. As it grew back the curls came back as well. It also curled much more in the summer than it does now.

We make fun of DS all the time because it looks like he has a curly mullet.
I personally think he looks good no matter what but my family is giving me grief for getting it cut but they don't have to deal with the craziness every day when he wakes up!

Re: Moms of boys with curly hair
DS has VERY curly hair and it grows out so when it gets even a little long it starts to look wild (I will post a pic tonight of it at its peak).
The first time we cut it he was 11mos old and I said not too short because I didnt want it to lose the curl. It totally didnt and they left it still looking babyish which I wanted. But now I tell them go short because it grows so fast and is back to crazy in only a couple of weeks.
