Moms of little boys...
DO NOT READ "I love you forever" - unless you want to cry like a baby!
I read that to Loey over the weekend and was seriously crying! Not just "eyes tearing up" but actually tears pouring down... and I couldn't even get through the end of the book.
Did this happen to anyone else?
Why oh why did someone write a book that pulls on my heartstrings so severely?

Yes! That book made me cry before I even had kids. It only got 1000 times worse when I had DS.

Re: Moms of little boys...
I got that book when DD was born and I BAWLED when I read it first, then when I read it to her for the first time I bawled again...since then I tell her every night and sometimes during the day " I will love you for always, I will love you for ever, you will always be my baby even when you are 102!!! I made up my own last verse as she is 4 and I didnt want to get into the "what does it mean as long as you are living" - 4 going on 16!!
Now that I have a son its even more sentimental to me
My sisters think its a weird book and dont get it at all - they make fun of me and say I will be driving around town crawling in my kids windows when they are older ( hey I might )

I just tried to look up the book on Amazon and can't find anything with that name - is that the exact name? Anyone have a picture of the cover or a link?

Thank you, ok so I have the link on Amazon. Am I missing something? The book is selling (new) for anywhere from $30 to $90??? Does this seem accurate?
LINK to prices on Amazon
ETA: Found it for less on Borders.com. Thanks again Linda for the book info.

Re: Moms of little boys...
Apparently I have no heart..... I've always thought that book was a little creepy.
Though there are books that are tearjerkers for me, that is not one of them. The picture of the old mommy holding the big man gives me the heebie-jeebies. Sorry.

And You are My Wish Come True.
Diana, the I Promise I'll Find You is based on a true story - mom missing the child or something like that.
It's sing songy and not as sentimental, but once you know the back story...

I don't think the story was meant to be taken literally
I can barely cradle my son NOW at 6 months
but I will cradle him in my heart forever and protect him like a mad crazed wildebeast until I take my last breathe.

I tend to agree actually with this one
DH's mom used to read it to him and he cherishes it - I stick with my other standard lovey books
