I've pumped in the car when I need to. I was even able to do it while dh was driving!
I've done this more times than I can count. I was constantly pumping in the backseat while DH was driving us to parties, friends/families houses, etc.
Even more fun, I have had to breastfeed Ryan in the car, while DH was driving. There were times he would scream bloody murder, so I'd climb back there and contort my body to hang a boob over him while he was in the carseat. DH was like WHAT ARE YOU DOINNNNGG BACK THERE??
Umm, he's quiet, what do you think I'm doing?
Haha I''ve totally done this too!!! It's amazing when you realize how flexible your body really is when you need it to be!

Why can't you just bring the pump with you? I have two Symphonies and one Freestyle. You can use the Freestyle in the car.

Re: Moms that only pump, need some support.
I had the car charger for my pump, so I could pump on the go while DH drove. I also had the manual pump for quick "relief" or a quick pumping session, so I wouldn't have to deal with finding a place to plug it in.
I exclusively pumped for 11 months. It's time consuming, and annoying at times, but totally doable. Hang in there!

Re: Moms that only pump, need some support.
i have exclusively pumped since DS was 6 weeks. At 19 weeks now and back to work, we're still going strong.
I've pumped everywhere, bathroom stalls, backseat of the car, front seat of the car, lol, friend and family houses - you name it.
as for traveling, here's what I'd do: get a car charger and a cover-up (you might already have one from BF) and pump in the backseat (or in my one case, front seat if you have to!) of the car on the way to and from whereever you are going. Get a battery pack and you can pump in the bathroom if you have to.

Re: Moms that only pump, need some support.
I always looked at it this way (and because I had the medela pump with the battery option so I could pump anywhere)
I figured that anywhere I would breastfeed a baby had to have a place I could sneak off and pump or I could go to the car.
I refused to let pumping be the reason the baby and I were not going out and doing things.
I also always carried a manual hand pump in the diaper bag for instances where I could get to a place to pump/couldn't get to the car/or didn't want to pump in a public bathroom.
It's not always easy, and it takes finding a comfort with it.
I also pumped every 3 hours.

Re: Moms that only pump, need some support.
I have brought my pump places as well. I have pumped in the car...not ideal but you gotta do it.
There have also been days where I have gone almost the whole day without pumping..would NOT recommend but it has happened. Don't give up and don't put your life on hold either. I almost 11 months into this

Re: Moms that only pump, need some support.
I def agree with OP to pump in the car. Hershey might have rooms for nursing. I just got back from Disney & they had private rooms to nurse or pump. They were extremely clean.

i would think you need to pump more than every 5-6 hours!
which pump do you have?
i have the medela freestyle and it's completely portable.
like PPs, i have also pumped in my car MANY times (don't need the jack either).
if you have the freestyle, you can honestly pump ANYWHERE... in a bathroom, etc. because you don't need to be connected to anything.
This is what I have. The freestyle let me pump anywhere (later I pumped in an office at work and could flip through magazines and my phone) Also, I pumped every 3 hours for 6 months! I stopped the night ones when DD slept through the night!
