Montessori vs Daycare, WWYD?

We have found a Montessori school nearby that we really like and a Daycare that we like as well.

They both work out to be about the same price.

I work 3 days / week and DS #1 is 2.5yo.

Montessori is mornings every single day (monday - friday, 8:45am - 11:45am).

Daycare is Tues and Thurs all day while I am at work.

My Mom could go get him and watch him after Montessori ends (she watches him now while I work and would have his brother who is only 1).

I love the Montessori school and program but am concerned that 5 days/week might be "too much"? Also, you sign a contract for the entire YEAR. So basically if DS doesn't do well for some reason, we will be liable for the entire year's tuition.

5 days a week is too much for a 2.5 yo which is why I did not put my ds in montessorri school. I think daycare for 2 days is better

THank you so much for your input. It works out to be about the same amount of time though ~15-16 hours / week.

I am so torn. Why are these decisions so hard???

There are plenty of kids that go to daycare 5 days per week for 9 hours a day. I think the benefits of Montessori was well worth the 5x per week.

To make it easier on your mom, I think I'd do the daycare. Then she doesn't have to rush out the baby if he's napping to pick up big brother, etc.

At 2.5, I don't know that he's going to learn so much more at Montessori--at 3 or 4, yes, I think they would have a better PreK program than a daycare, but at 2, the emphasis is still generally on socialization.

I would go for daycare myself, but you know your situation best and only you can decide what works for your family.
