My cervix is measuring short

Is there anyone else out there with a short cervix? My doctor told me to be a couch potato this week and he's going to check it again Sunday. I don't know what will happen next. Good news, my baby is great! A little yoga baby with his/her feet up by its head practicing eating too!

A shortening cervix is very common. Usually if it falls less then 2.5 they will preform a cerclage (stitch your cervix closed).

Mine was shortening around 17 weeks, I took it easy for a week and it lengthened. Has been in the normal range ever since. I am pregnant with twins which puts me at a higher risk for an incompetent cervix.

Anyway, if you do a search here I am sure you will find lots of similar stories. Try to take it easy!

Hey!!! I had a shortening cervix at about 19 weeks and preggo with twins.
I had the cerclage done because i was pushing the limits at 2.6 and the limit for the cerclage (20 weeks). After i had it done my cervix lengthened again to 2.9-3.0 and has been stable. I'm almost 24 weeks now and so far so good.
Try to take it easy..it really helps. Fm me if u need to talk more.

I had one too. I get checked every week, so far stable, staying at 2.9. I am going again this week. They feel comfortable if its staying the same and its close to 3.0. Try to stay off your feet that is what I did and it seems to help. Sometimes they say if you uterus is tilted that may be why too.

Thanks girls! I'm trying to take it easy and it helps that I have the week off from work b/c I teach. He didn't say anything about a stich yet, but DH thinks I measured 2.5. We're checking again Sunday morning. UGH! Thanks again!
