Definitely not. I don't like the idea of other people sleeping in my bed.

Re: My current "discussion" with DH: If your in laws were to stay over your house for the weekend...
If MY inlaws were to stay at my house for the weekend, they could sleep anywhere they'd like...........CAUSE WE WOULD HAVE FLED TOWN!
Now, with my parents, if they were to come and stay, I'd offer my room and they'd deny it.

No! I would get them a blow up mattress or something.

Re: My current "discussion" with DH: If your in laws were to stay over your house for the weekend...
i would. we have a guest room, but no guest bed right now. Anytime my parents come to visit, we give them our bed and sleep on the aerobed ourselves. his parents haven't stayed with us, but if they were to, i'd make the same offer.

Re: My current "discussion" with DH: If your in laws were to stay over your house for the weekend...
my stepson's room is also our guest room (he's here summers n weekends) so if its not in use, they get that room first. so far the only people to sleep in our bed other than us have been my parents - i'm ok w/it...just change the sheets before and after :)

I would probably offer it, knowing that they would deny it. We have a pull-out couch in our living room so I would imagine that they would sleep there.

being that I live in a 1 bedroom- I wouldn't feel comfortable with them staying over at all- I would reserve them a room at a hotel

No I would not offer them my bed. If I did not have a guest room, I would expect them to stay elsewhere.

Re: My current "discussion" with DH: If your in laws were to stay over your house for the weekend...
We have a guest room, so it's not an issue. If we did not have a guest room, or when that becomes a baby's room, I'll WANT to offer them our bed, DH might not like the idea.

We did. They took us up on the offer, which was fine.

Great minds think alike...DH thinks it is rude. I even offered to pay. There is a hotel 2 blocks away from the apartment. May I add they are coming with our 4 year old neice and I have a crazy pug...

Re: My current "discussion" with DH: If your in laws were to stay over your house for the weekend...
Um, I dont think I have a choice? They are older and I think they should sleep in a bed. DH and I will be okay on the futon or the blow up mattress. Not that this makes me happy but I think its the right thing to do.

when we have a house, no, they can either stay in the extra bedroom, if we have one, or they can not stay over.

Re: My current "discussion" with DH: If your in laws were to stay over your house for the weekend...
yes we would- when we lived in a one bedroom condo and my parents stayed over, they slept in our bedroom when they visited- it was the "right thing to do", so we would do the same for his parents if it became necessary

same here. when MIL comes to NY to visit, she says at a nearby hotel. I kinda feel guilty about it, but she gets all kinds of discounts and ends up paying less than $100 a night for a nice place. and she would never let us pay!

ITA - I don't think they'd be comfortable either. When we had a 1bdrm apt they always slept on the blowup mattress or reserved a hotel room

Re: My current "discussion" with DH: If your in laws were to stay over your house for the weekend...
I would gently 'suggest' that they stay in a hotel.
Example: "Oh GREAT! You will be up here the 2nd? What hotel are you staying in? I hope you will let us at least pay for part of it!"
If they are DEFINITELY staying at our place then I would offer up our bed. They probably wouldn't take it - but I couldn't imagine them sleeping on a couch or an aerobed.
I wouldn't mind using the inflatable with my husband. I think we would set it up in front of the fireplace and pretend we are camping. We do that sometimes anyway!

Hotel room please!!!!
Sorry about the right thing to do........IMO I wouldn't want to sleep on an Aeorbed in my own place, and why would they want you to?
