No, I'd pay for a hotel room before I did that. Too weird.

being that I live in a 1 bedroom- I wouldn't feel comfortable with them staying over at all- I would reserve them a room at a hotel
Ditto

Re: My current "discussion" with DH: If your in laws were to stay over your house for the weekend...
My inlaws just spent fathers day weekend with us and we considered letting them sleep in our bed... then decided against it. They were fine on our trundle bed in the guest room. I doubt they would have slept in our bed even if we offered.

Nope. Honestly though, I think DH would pay to put them up at a hotel before letting them stay with us. He tries to lay low around his 'rents.

Re: My current "discussion" with DH: If your in laws were to stay over your house for the weekend...
No. My mom was coming to visit and she mailed an airbed to our house to sleep on. And it is still here so that she (and any guest we might have) can sleep on it while here. Everyone kind of knows we have it and it gives them incentive to stay with us instead of a hotel...which can mean a longer visit. It's queen sized as well.
I don't let people in our room...so I certainly wouldn't let them sleep on my bed.
(also, our parents are 51 and under so they aren't terribly old. and my grandmother, who is 70, prefers the floor as she has slept on the floor for about 20 years due to a bad back and epilepsy fears. she volunteered for the floor when she came to visit even though we had made plans to have DD sleep on her kid-sized airbed and my grandmother in DD's bed.)

Re: My current "discussion" with DH: If your in laws were to stay over your house for the weekend...
if my fil had to stay at our house, i would offer him my bed. but dh would have to buy me a new bed as soon as the visit was over. (the man doesn't like to shower)
if it were my parent(s) [divorced], i would also offer them my bed. they would probably decline and ask to sleep in my son's room on the extra mattress.

Re: My current "discussion" with DH: If your in laws were to stay over your house for the weekend...
Here's a little story of my own that is sort of related..
My aunt and uncle stayed at my mom's when I was there because we were at a wedding the night before and they didnt want to drive back to NJ. My mom offered her bed to them and she slept on the couch. Well the next morning, my aunt comes inside and tells my mom that they can't find my uncles underwear in her room!
We know my uncle is gross, but WHO SLEEPS IN THE NUDE IN SOMEONE ELSES BED?!?!?!
I was so grossed out, those sheets were off the minute they walked out the door and the bed was sprayed with disinfectant!!!

Re: My current "discussion" with DH: If your in laws were to stay over your house for the weekend...
My dad is really tall - so our guest bed is no good for him...it's just a full. My parents are used to a King...so I usually offer up our Queen. This weekend they're staying on the pull out sofa! DH's parents visited last weekend and there was no chance in h**l I was giving up my bed for them and I'm almost certain they would have refused.

Yes, since they have given us their room when we are in town.
