Naming Woes...
I hate when I see a name and really like it and then ask DH what he thinks and he says "no, that was my friends dogs name growing up", or "no I knew a girl in HS with that name and she was a real slut". Has this happened to anyone else? We cant seem to agree on any names and he always has these annoying reasons.

Yes, but I do have to admit that I'm guilty of that too. If the name reminds me of someone that I didn't really like then I automatically hate the name lol. I think everyone does that to an extent.

Haha yes this happens a lot! More on my part though bc I'm a teacher so some names I associate with students who were bad or annoying so I would never choose that name! My sons name is jason Tyler (jt) and it was a name that I've never had a student with or we had no connection too. This time I'm having a girl and the same thing we picked a name that we have no connection to at all, Brooke rose!

Similarly, DH vetoes names for stupid reasons like-
Hannah- Montana
Logan- Wolverine
Nathan- Hot dog.
So annoying!

Having same problem with DH. Except each time I mention a name, his reaction is "Eh". No explanation. Drives me nuts! I'm due in 9 weeks and we still haven't picked a name!

I had a similar experience with DH, but ultimately we chose names we both liked. I still have a few favorites on the back burner that I can always try again with #2

I remember when we were trying to think of names for my dd. My mother in law suggested Stephanie. That was my dhs ex girlfriends name. I shot her a look of WTF!!! Needless to say even though i really like that name it was soooo off the table. Lol
Also loved the name Sophia but a girl in my jh had it and i disliked her very much

Naming Woes...
When we were coming up with names for this LO arriving in May, I really wanted to name her Serena. DH said it was too close to Sabrina, a girl he dated like 10 years back that he swears was "crazy." But then he goes and suggests Selina. Umm, really?? Makes no sense....
We finally decided on Athena :)

I think this happens to everyone. Lol It is annoying but how can you help it - some names you will just associate with someone, pet, or whatever.

It goes both ways. DH has liked names that I've not liked for equally stupid reasons. We just kept going until we both agreed on a name we liked.

My DH likes Brendan and I said absolutely not since I dated a guy named Brendan and it'd be weird. Strangely, DH was not bothered at all by it and still would' use the name. I on the other hand said no exes!!

Naming Woes...
I almost talked myself out of Taylor because of an ex-employee who I hated. She now works at my local pizza place and every time I went in there I lost more interest in the name. DH actually talked me down by reminding me of the people I like named Taylor and by reminding me that my daughter will define the name for me in the future.

Yup we are having this problem now. Between the 2 of us we don't love any names. When we had our son we had no problems with boy names. But both of us seem to have a very hard time with girls names.
