Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
Did you name your child before you were pregnant? No
Did you name your child before they were born? No, we had a short list ready and chose her name after we met her.

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
We had names picked out, 2 boys, 2 girls. Once we found out it was a girl, we went back and forth between the 2 girl names. I think we finally decided the week before she was born.

We had a girl's named picked out, but had no clue about a boy's name. We decided on Tyler for the first name and Craig for the middle (as a tribute to my little brother who passed away) after we found out the sex.

We loved the name Julia right away when I got pregnant and we started to think about names, then my DH being a big Mets fan, came up with Shea for a middle name!

Charlie was named after his Dad and Grandfather so we knew from the start that if he was a boy that would be his name.
We also had a girls named picked out 1/2 way through my pregnancy.
Christopher too.
"We" couldn't agree on a girl's name. But I had one picked out and I was going to pull rank if Christopher had been a girl

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
We had our son's name picked out 13 years before he was born, even before we were engaged.
I had 30 girls names for our daughter and my dh liked 2. We had her name picked right after I found out I was pregnant.

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
we didn't know the sex and had two names for each picked out. we decided after she was in our arms in the recovery room.
however, i later watched video of DH in the nursery as the doctors were examining/weighing DD as soon as she was born, and DH referred to her by her name, BEFORE WE DECIDED ON IT! how did he know i would go with that name????

Has totally different names picked out for her. I wanted to meet her first before we named her. I figured I knew the sex, I wanted something to be a surprise.

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
I had tons of girls names, but no boys names. So after I had my scan and found out it was a boy I was barraged with names, mainly sent over by text by my bosses 10 and 12 year old, Roger was a popular choice from the 10/12 year old set. My choices were Elijah, Lev, Caleb...biblical and traditional, but not overly popular. MY husband wanted Bilbo Baggins or Frodo. Those were not on my list!
I was watching ER and saw Noah Wyle in the credits and though...yes, I like it. Told my husband, he said, yes okay. and razzmatazzdazz...Noah was borned!!

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
We had names thought of before I got pregnant...but nothing solid.
We had a boy's name decided pretty soon after I got pregnant...but couldn't figure out a girl's name (which is why I thougth I was having a girl). I didn't think of Lily until about a week before she was born....and we didn't come up with Lily Anne as a combination until I was in Labor and Delivery. When she was born, we had about 3 names that were potential cantidates...and she looked the most like a Lily, so it was decided .
