Napping and sleeping issues at 27 months
DS is just about 27 months refuses to take naps - i will put him down and he will jump in his crib until I go and get him (i let him jump anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes). This has been going on for a little over a week. To make matters worse, he is now resisting going to sleep at night too crying and carrying on when I put him down at night - once to the point of vomiting This part has been happening for the past 3 nights. Before now, sleep time has never been an issue. Anyone else go through this/something similar?? Any advice? Oh, and of course, we have now brought the binky back into our nighttime routine (despite the fact that it has not been part of the nighttime route for about 9 months) to prevent any future vomitting scenarios...

Re: Napping and sleeping issues at 27 months
Ugh! How frustrating!
I think I'd consider leaving him in the crib for an hour. You can give him some books and tell him that he doesn't have to sleep, but it is quiet time. I'm guessing this is an exploration in independence, so making him feel in control could help...

I definitely agree with leaving him in there longer. I think he has figured out that you'll come in and get him if he jumps around.
No idea what's up with the nighttime stuff. Maybe he's overtired since he's not napping? If he doesn't nap, maybe try putting him in earlier?
I really have no idea, of course. Just throwing ideas out there!

ITA! Definitely give him up to an hour. Maybe after all the jumping, he'll tired himself out when he realizes you're not coming to get him.

A bed is definitely in his near future as we are going to be prepping a nursery for his new brother or sister coming in January. As soon as we switch up the rooms, we are going to set up his new room with his new bed, etc. I guess the new bed would require a new gate at his door too He strikes me as the type that would bolt out of bed at the first chance he can get :))

TY - I don't know what his deal is either - I have tried the putting him in earlier thing too - was met with the same resistance as putting him at usual time - i am going to let him jump around longer though - soon as kicks this virus he has right now ...
