Need help with Gas/electric questions for Lindenhurst area
Hi, we are moving to Lindenhurst to our first home on Saturday. This is a first for us, so we have some questions regarding electric and gas services. Can anyone help me with what companies we call for these services? I think someone said there was only one major company for the electric, but do we shop around for gas prices? And besides phone/internet/cable are there are any services that I am not thinking of that need to be connected? Any help would be great! -Nicole

The electric company is LIPA (Long Island Power Authority).
As for gas, you may want to shop around for prices. There are companies like Petro, SLomins and others. (We have slomins with alarm so its a good deal).
You also want to make sure the water is transfered to your name. It should be Suffolk County Water but I am not sure if Lindenhurst has their own water.
Good luck and have fun!!!!

do you have natural gas or oil for heat? If oil, you can go to different companies but natural gas you have to go through Keyspan. I think through Keyspan you can buy your gas from other companies but it must go through the Keyspan for the delievery.
