Need some advice with my schedule..somethings wrong
DD is 12 weeks. Right now her schedule is as is. Its the nightime that all becomes a mess.
8:30 w/u 9 bottle 9:45- 11ish nap 1 bottle 1-4 nap (this just started) Then I try to keep her up until 7 when she goes to bed. The problem is she needs another nap between 4 and 7. I let her fall asleep around 5:30, but then always wake her up so she dosent sleep past her bedtime. I dont want to put her down earlier because DH will never see her, and I dont want her to nap for 2 hours because then bedtime will be so late. I hate to wake her up, and its every night. Any thoughts?

I don't know why it's hard for me to remember when DS was that age...it was only last year, but I think my 1syt question is, is she sleeping through the night? Or is your only concern that she is taking that last nap and it is interfering wiht her bedtime? If so, I would just make her bedtime later...this way DH would get to see her and she will be happy bc she has had the sleep she needs.

She wakes at 4 for a bottle and then goes down until 8:30. Im wondering if I should just let her keep on napping...its not like Im messing with a beautiful nightime routine anyhow

she must need that late nap. i would just let her sleep. i know it stinks but some babies just have a later bedtime than others - and if you keep her awake when she needs to sleep all you will have is a fussy, unhappy baby. believe me i know

For now because she is still young, I would let her take a short nap between 4-7 and put her to bed later. It would only be for 2 mos or so. You may even be able to push back or eliminate that 4am feeding

I agree. Keeping a tired baby awake only backfires. A later bedtime is pretty common in babies.

Re: Need some advice with my schedule..somethings wrong
its funny, DS will be 8 weeks tuesday, and this is really his schedule. Even the 4 am feeding.
I tried last night letting him sleep from 4-5:30, then he woke up. By the time I bathed him, changed him, read him a story, and gave him his bottle it was about 8 pm. He slept from 8-4, then 4:30-8:30. He was alot better rested.
Maybe try letting her sleep at 4, and waking her if she sleeps too late, like 6 or so.

Re: Need some advice with my schedule..somethings wrong
I agree with not waking her, I would just let her sleep, seems like she needs it if she isn't waking. My son is a couple of weeks older than your DD and takes his late nap around 5-5:30 then we do a bath around 7:30 and he has been falling asleep around 8-8:30pm for the night. He does not sleep through the night yet and wakes for a middle of the night feeding still. But sounds like you have a pretty good schedule going if you ask me.

I would start putting her to bed earlier than like 6:00. make sure her last nap is no later than 2:00pm. With My DS I always kept him up untill at least 6:00pm then gave him a bottle then Bed Good luck!!

At 8:30, does she wake up, eat and go back to sleep?
Aidan goes down to sleep between 7-8 PM. He will usually wake up around 11 PM to eat and goes right back down to sleep.
In the beginning we would wake him up but he was just cranky and tired. Now that we let him sleep and wake up when he's ready he is a much happier baby AND is starting to get rid of the middle of the night feeding.

Re: Need some advice with my schedule..somethings wrong
i have that same problem , DH doesnt get home until 630ish. If I cant get a late afternoon nap in then she has to go to bed and DH doesnt see her. I feel bad for him, but its more important that she get her sleep.
