I really think it is unfair for anyone to try to ask you to include someone in a delivery room- such as your MIL. This is a HIGHLY personal experience and I believe that only people who you are comfortable with should be in there with you. Having your MIL in there when you are not 110% comfortable with it could make you more tense, more stressed and cause you unnecessary issues. She can wait for your baby to be born in the waiting room. In fact, I did not want anyone coming to the hospital until I was really far along because I didn't want the pressure of knowing people were waiting or trying to visit me.

That would be very cruel of your MIL or mom if they did say anything. It is nothing you can help because when you push, that is where you are pushing. There is no way to control or stop it.
