I thought about this very thing on Saturday! It was the only truly lazy day I've had in a long time. Ate breakfast, napped on the couch for a while, hopped on the elliptical, ate lunch and watched a movie, showered and actually blew out my hair and slapped on makeup, went grocery shopping, cooked an awesome dinner....all the while thinking "I won't be able to do this. Oh and I won't be able to do this either. Or this."

u can still do this stuff...i actually like going grocery shopping with DS...its fun

It's not that bad. I was nervous about all this too when pregnant with DD#1, but we adjusted and I couldn't be happier. We decided to have children and life takes a new turn down an exciting path. You still do all those things after you adjust, because you NEED toChat Icon Don't be too nervous about it, it'll be great!Chat Icon

The only thing I'm going to miss is sleep, hanging with my friends is not an issue, in fact for me - this will probably bring me closer to my friends as they all have young children... we were the token "childless" couple for the longest time... it'll be nice to finally be in the "club"Chat Icon My friends and I haven't gone to bars in years... don't miss that nonsense at all. If we really want to do something minus the kids, like this Friday a bunch of us are going out and the moms (the majority) are leaving the kids with the DH's. I'm sure DH can watch the baby once I'm ready to worry about my nails again. It'll be nice to go out as a family for dinners with friends and family.

You have to laugh. Life as you know it will never be the same again.

Signed, the lady whose child threw up IN THE CAR this morning and still made it to work on time.

Yes, it is different...but it really depends on you HOW different it will be. DH and I still go out to dinner, see friends, I get my nails done on a regular basis too. The older the baby gets the easier it will be.
